It's actually one of my top 5 favorites in my stream. If you have an eye for this one also, THANK YOU. And yes, if you are asking.. it is PS paint. I couldn't possibly be messing around paint at 10:00PM at night.. doesn't go to well with me. Other news! I'm going to the States with Jen on August 28th for new school clothes and shopping, i'm pretty excited about that. Which it sucks because I have no job, so i've stuck to babysitting and helping out my grandpa with yard work. ONE-TWO-THREE WEEEE! Well, I have nothing really else to say. I'll catch up more with you guys later! Here are some fun facts!
FACT #1: I got 5 hours of sleep last night
FACT #2: I'm babysitting a dog for my parents friends, her name is Sierra
FACT #2: I want a peircing, monroe (but near my bottom lip)
FACT #3: I love my family/friends

Cathedral - built in the late 12th century. Its most striking feature is the rose-window in the facade, with, at its sides, the symbols of the Evangelists: the eagle for St. John, the lion for St. Mark, the angel for St. Matthew and the ox for St. Luke. The interior has latine cross plan with a single nave. The most precious art piece is the wooden Christ over the altar, of Umbrian school.

This is a rock (precious art object) that we acquired on one our our trips to Arizona or Utah.
Lighting info: Simple lighting with a YN560 in a 24 inch soft box camera right at 3 o'clock. Fill light came from a small hand held mirror at camera left. The flash, in manual mode was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N. To make it look more colorful I wiped it with olive oil as water or oil brings out the color, just as rocks in a stream look way more colorful than dry rocks sitting alongside the stream.
Other pictures I've taken of rocks can be seen in my Rocks set www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157631898864615/. In the set description, I emphasize how relatively (it is photography, after all) inexpensive and easy it is to use off camera flash to light things. I also list good resources that will help you in learning how to do this.
Like most images, it looks best when viewed large. Press "L" if you'd like to see it in that enlightened manner.
The misfortune is primed with Japanese people, they that have historically made of nature's most precious art ... I modestly look the spots on the wall, thinking, stunned by what happened, I take my camera and I guess all that beauty oriental . There goes my tribute!.

Museum of the Book - The history of letters, the book, letter print and book culture of the Czech lands in the European context.
"The development of the book culture of the Czech lands is demonstrated by the book exhibits – from medieval manuscripts through to old prints to contemporary graphic and book illustration, including samples of underground and exile literature borrowed from the library resources of Libri prohibiti. The exhibition includes the Baroque library of the Capuchin Monastery in Roudnice nad Labem, the library of Mladá Vožice Chateau and the classicist interior and personal library of the Czech historian, Gelasius Dobner, in the original bookcases. The exhibition concludes with the collection of Cubist furniture designed according to Josef Gočár’s plans and the carved furniture of the remarkable artist, Josef Váchal, together with a small exhibition of his graphic works. The reconstructions of the medieval Scriptorium, a printing room of the 16th century and samples of printing machines complete the overall picture."

I have been busy! I couldn't just stick my precious art in an envelope without special packaging! (The horror!!) So before I mailed it all out I made nice little homes for each piece of art in it's very own pop up easel card. (Don't they look happy?!) Each tile is protected in a plastic sleeve and then attached to the card with clear photo corners. This card is now part of my 2 in 1 series. It arrives with a little explanation sheet: remove the art, replace with your own, and send it to brighten someone else's day! :) I'm so happy I took the time to make these... Now I have my patterns all set and it will be much faster for future editions! See other photos for side and front views. More details on my blog here...
Thank you, my Friends, for your inspiring artwork that you shared all along this past year. It is always such a pleasure to visit you and admire all you have been creating.

Ok so today it's been 2 months I can't go on my computer. And I miss it so much. I miss SL so much. I miss my friends so much.. Anyway I should be able to come back soon... When? I don't know at all. :/
I keep enjoying every piece of your precious art I can see along the Flickr Dashboard. Hope to see you all very soon <3
This photograph was taken during the triumphant Frog Band Reunion Tour where they played at sold out arenas and lily pads and promoted their latest album, "Redeep". They've come a long way since the early days when they played for flies and tips in rundown bars and bus stations.
I collected these precious art items a long time ago in Baja California, Mexico, and have not seen any for sale in at least 20 years. I have other Frog Band pictures in my cleverly titled Frog Band Album. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/albums/72157625578441115
Lighting: I first placed the band on a piece of black Perspex, and then lit them with Yongnuo strobes in 24 inch soft boxes on either side. The strobes and my camera mounted tripod were triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N
I'd wanted to create an organic pendant, inspired by the Coral reef, as part of my Shipwrecked Jewellery Collection. The collection is based on the idea that precious art jewellery are marooned on shipwrecked vessels beneath the sea
Over time, barnacles, and other marine life settle and grow over them, creating new organic, part living, sculptures. These are in turn discovered by Mermaids, searching through the shipwrecks, for lost treasure.
I usually sculpt this collection in sterling wire, but I wanted to add another dimension to it, by fusing metal clay sculptures with the wire.
I wanted to emulate hard coral, with those finite repeated patterns and arching forms, which I found wire weaving lent itself to. The fine silver clay was sculpted to create a chamber for the gemstone, and to create that flowing "fin", that gives the whole piece that sense of movement and directional flow. I think the fused wavy wire work on the right side , resembles turbelent water flowing around the coral
I then used fine silver to add the little organic embellishments such as the seashells.
The gemstone is a flashy Labradorite (the same stone seen in an earlier post), it has proved to be very inspirational. The colors within it are unbelievably bright at times, with yellows, golds,greens and blues are captured within it.
Anyway, here are the rest of the photos, showing different views of the piece. I'm really happy with it, and am encouraged to do more sculptures combining wire and metal clay

Second in mean elevation to Colorado, Wyoming has many attractions for the tourist trade, notably Yellowstone National Park. Hikers, campers and skiers are attracted to Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole National Monument in the Teton Range of the Rockies. Cheyenne is famous for its annual “Frontier Days” celebration. Flaming Gorge, the Fort Laramie National Historic Site, and Devils Tower and Fossil Butte National Monuments are other points of interest.

In the far and mighty West,
Where the crimson sun seeks rest,
There's a growing splendid State that lies above,
On the breast of this great land;
Where the massive Rockies stand,
There's Wyoming young and strong, the State I love!
CHORUS:
Wyoming, Wyoming! Land of the sunlight clear!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Land that we hold so dear!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Precious art thou and thine!
Wyoming, Wyoming! Beloved State of mine!
In the flowers wild and sweet,
Colors rare and perfumes meet;
There's the columbine so pure, the daisy too,
Wild the rose and red it springs,
White the button and its rings,
Thou art loyal for they're red and white and blue,
Chorus
Where thy peaks with crowned head,
Rising till the sky they wed,
Sit like snow queens ruling wood and stream and plain;
'Neath thy granite bases deep,
'Neath thy bosom's broadened sweep,
Lie the riches that have gained and brought thee fame.
Chorus
Other treasures thou dost hold,
Men and women thou dost mould,
True and earnest are the lives that thou dost raise,
Strengthen thy children though dost teach,
Nature's truth thou givest to each,
Free and noble are thy workings and thy ways.
Chorus
In the nation's banner free
There's one star that has for me
A radiance pure and splendor like the sun;
Mine it is, Wyoming's star,
Home it leads me near or far;
O Wyoming! All my heart and love you've won!

Prague Castle (Czech: Pražský hrad) is the official residence and office of the President of the Czech Republic. Located in the Hradčany district of Prague and dating back to the ninth century, the castle has been a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept within a hidden room inside it.
The Guinness Book of Records lists Prague Castle as the largest ancient castle in the world. It occupies an area of almost 70,000 m2, at about 570 meters in length and an average of about 130 meters wide.
History
Prague Castle in 1870
Vladislav Hall
Changing Of The Guards
The history of the castle stretches back to the year 870 with the construction of its first walled building, the Church of the Virgin Mary. The Basilica of Saint George and the Basilica of St. Vitus were founded under the reign of Vratislav and his son St. Wenceslas in the first half of the 10th century.
The first convent in Bohemia was founded in the castle, next to the church of St. George. A Romanesque palace was erected here during the 12th century. In the 14th century, under the reign of Charles IV the royal palace was rebuilt in Gothic style and the castle fortifications were strengthened. In place of rotunda and basilica of St. Vitus began building of a vast Gothic church, that have been completed almost six centuries later.
During the Hussite Wars and the following decades, the castle was not inhabited. In 1485, King Ladislaus II Jagello began to rebuild the castle. The massive Vladislav Hall (built by Benedikt Rejt) was added to the Royal Palace. New defence towers were also built on the north side of the castle.
A large fire in 1541 destroyed large parts of the castle. Under the Habsburgs, some new buildings in renaissance style were added. Ferdinand I built Belvedere as a summer palace for his wife Anne. Rudolph II used Prague Castle as his main residence. He founded the northern wing of the palace, with the Spanish Hall, where his precious art collections were exhibited.
The Second Prague defenestration in 1618 began the Bohemian Revolt. During the subsequent wars, the Castle was damaged and dilapidated. Many works from the collection of Rudolph II were looted by Swedes in 1648, in the Battle of Prague (1648) which was the final act of the Thirty Years' War.
The last major rebuilding of the castle was carried out by Empress Maria Theresa in the second half of the 18th century. Following his abdication in 1848, and the succession of his nephew, Franz Joseph, to the throne, the former emperor, Ferdinand I, made Prague Castle his home.
In 1918, the castle became the seat of the president of the new Czechoslovak Republic T.G. Masaryk. The New Royal Palace and the gardens were renovated by Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik. In this period the St Vitus Cathedral was finished (on September 28, in 1929). Renovations continued in 1936 under Plečnik's successor Pavel Janák.
On March 15, 1939, shortly after the Nazi regime strong-armed former Czech President Emil Hacha (who suffered a heart-attack during the negotiations) to hand his nation over to the Germans, Adolf Hitler spent a night in the Prague Castle, "proudly surveying his new possession." During the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia in World War II, Prague Castle became the headquarters of Reinhard Heydrich, the "Reich Protector of Bohemia and Moravia". He was said to have placed the Bohemian crown on his head; old legends say a usurper who places the crown on his head is doomed to die within a year. Less than a year after assuming power, on May 27, 1942, Heydrich was attacked by British-trained Czech soldiers while on his way to the Castle, and died of his wounds (which became infected) a week later.
After the liberation of Czechoslovakia, it housed the offices of the communist Czechoslovak government. During the Velvet Revolution, Alexander Dubček, the leader of Czechoslovakia during the Prague Spring, appeared on a balcony overlooking Wenceslas Square to hear throngs of protesters below shouting "Dubček to the Castle!" As they pushed for him to take his seat as president of the country at Prague Castle, he embraced the crowd as a symbol of democratic freedom.
After Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the castle became the seat of the Head of State of the new Czech Republic. Similar to what Masaryk did with Plečnik, president Václav Havel commissioned Bořek Šípek to be the architect of post-communism Prague Castle's necessary improvements, in particular of the facelift of the castle's gallery of paintings.
Architectural styles of Prague Castle
Saint Vitus Cathedral
Conclusion of the cathedral (1344-1349)
The castle buildings represent virtually every architectural style of the last millennium. Prague Castle includes Gothic St Vitus Cathedral, Romanesque Basilica of St. George, a monastery and several palaces, gardens and defense towers. Most of the castle areas are open to tourists. Nowadays, the castle houses several museums, including the National Gallery collection of Bohemian baroque and mannerism art, exhibition dedicated to Czech history, Toy Museum and the picture gallery of Prague Castle, based on the collection of Rudolph II. The Summer Shakespeare Festival regularly takes place in the courtyard of Burgrave Palace.
The neighborhood around Prague Castle is called Hradčany.

Prague Castle (Czech: Pražský hrad) is a castle complex in Prague, Czech Republic, dating from the 9th century. It is the official residence of the President of the Czech Republic. The castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are kept within a hidden room inside it.

He was said to have placed the Bohemian crown on his head; old legends say an usurper who places the crown on his head is doomed to die within a year.[4] Less than a year after assuming power, on May 27, 1942, Heydrich was attacked during Operation Anthropoid, by British-trained Slovak and Czech soldiers while on his way to the Castle, and died of his wounds (which became infected) a week later.[5]
After the liberation of Czechoslovakia and the coup in 1948, the Castle housed the offices of the communist Czechoslovak government. After Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the castle became the seat of the Head of State of the new Czech Republic.

Another shot of Sarah during day one of Comic Con 2009. Seriously, as long as it is free of precious art, she has no moral objection to turning that poster tube into a lethal weapon.
We spent 24 days travelling through the Czech Republic and Austria. This set is Vienna, Austria. Photos are tagged as to which day.
Day 12 - We started off by going to Schönbrunn Palace. This was our second time here and I can't express enough how great it is. Schönbrunn Palace and gardens is a former Habsburg imperial summer residence in Vienna. The grounds contain the palace, Gloriette, Palmenhaus, Dessert house, mazes, Roman ruins, English and French gardens, a carrage house (that contains many royal carrages), Egyptian Obelisk , an orangery and Tiergarten Schönbrunn (literally, Schönbrunn Zoo), the oldest zoo in the world. One of the most impressive sites I've been to. To really enjoy the entire site, you must take two days.
