Someone is praying in the direction of Mekkah under the walls of Essasouira. I did want to wait a big green wave to capture this image because my hope was to capture an "high contrast" moment, in every meaning. Do you want to try to list all the contrasts in the photo?
In hustle bustle of sunday she found a spot to do prayers peacefully with a holy view

The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
There are some things in life we can’t control, no matter how hard we try, however good our intentions may be. I think the key to a happy life is in this prayer, even if I’m not particularly religious...

More tears are shed over answered prayers than unanswered ones.

There is a darkness behind every light.
And with darkness in heart i pray may they stay in peace in the afterlife.
I have thousand prayer for them.
I have thousand wish for them.
May Almighty keep them safe.

A revised version, reposted in support of the comments for people to view. I think both have their own appeal, but the original is my favourite over this one, but I guess I must be a little quirky or just a rule breaker :)
"And men forgot their passions in the dread
Of this desolation; and all hearts
Were chill'd into a selfish prayer for light"

223 How Does One Enter Into True Prayer
223 How Does One Enter Into True Prayer
1. Whilst praying, your heart must be at peace before God, and it must be sincere. You are truly communing and praying with God; you must not deceive God using nice-sounding words. Prayer is centered around that which God wishes to complete today. Ask God to bring you greater enlightenment and illumination, and bring your actual state and troubles before God to pray, and make resolution before God.
2. Prayer is not the following of procedure, but the seeking of God using your true heart. Ask that God protect your heart, making it able to often be at peace before God, making you able to know yourself, and despise yourself, and forsake yourself in the environment that God has set for you, thus allowing you to have a normal relationship with God and making you someone who truly loves God.
from “Concerning the Practice of Prayer” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
If I had a good friend, or a sister or brother,
Sitting with me here, now . . .
And I knew that their child was sick.
No words would be necessary.
I am a believer so I pray.
My friend does not care if my prayers are
Christian, Native American,
Hindu, Buddhist or Muslim.
She cares that my good thoughts send love.
She cares that may they help him and her.
I light a candle.
Light signifies life, hope and courage –
Everything a mother needs
To love her child today
No matter what.
I pray for healing.
I pray for peace.
I pray for them.
I know this life is hard.
Strength and courage are important . . .
Not every day, not every moment,
Praying for my friend's son and for children everywhere. They are our investment for the future.
Praying for my friend and for parents everywhere.

As I went to compose this shot, this merchant quickly walked away and ''pretended'' to be talking on his phone...I waited for this fellow to turn around or walk back to his booth, but he waited until I was gone. I also do not understand why not just say ''for sale'' instead of ''donation''..To me donation implies that it could be free as well? Why not call it for what it is...for $3.00 your prayers will be heard...
'Ya, our hands will get more wrinkled
And our hair it will be grey
Don’t think I could forgive you '

The Shrine at the top of the mountain had this giant mass of prayer locks. You can just make out the writing on a few of them here.

Well,a Christmas tradition around here is that every year we each get to pick out an ornament at Walmart.Which we usually do like right after Thanksgiving. We write our names on them and the year so we each have one from each year.
This is one has always been one of my favorites, well since 2000,from the year 2000,of course.
Incenses and prayers should bring peace on earth. Merry Christmas to all Flickrs.
In Desert Waiting for the Racing Time so time to prayer has come so we must to pray .
This is another version of a previous image that I posted a couple of days ago. This one with no blur.
We are losing our dear Dalee. He is in renal failure and has untreatable Pancreatic cancer. We don't know how much time he has left, but plan to make it as happy and comfortable as possible. We've shared more than 12 wonderful years together, and I think he's had a very happy life. My only hope is that he passes peacefully in his sleep......if any of you could say a little prayer for that, Dalee, Al & I would be very thankful.
Let prayer be fire: admire, re-light, relate, regain.
Prayer Flags are left up until the flag has worn away and the prayer taken away by the wind.

I saw this thick assembly of prayer flags at a small temple in rural Bhutan. My first instinct was to walk into them and photograph them with the camera facing up.
I used my phone camera to make this image. Sometimes when you know what you are shooting and the subjects are not complex, it doesn't matter what equipment you have.
This statue was found in a cemetery in the town in Indiana that I grew up in called Williamsport.
At just over 5000m the mountain passes in Tibet are always covered with prayer flags.
