After another visit, i thought i would show you the full picture of my latest framed image, i can see me visiting this again and get some nice sunset colours, as i say its something you could quite easily walk past not realising there is a photograph to be had.
Just driving back home and saw the steam from Drax was rising in a weird way. Did a detour off the M62 and found a spot I could get this shot with the wind turbines in the frame too. You can also see the steam from the other two Yorkshire power stations.
I got some very upsetting photos of seal earlier in the day which I will post later but I warn you now it's not a cute seal pup pic - nature is sometimes awful :(
I still return back to these venues if i think i can get something a bit different, the sun rising to my extreme right, not the best time of year but i quite like the night lights still burning on the power station, for all you sunset and sunrise lovers why don't you download the Photographers Ephemeris for your desktop, its perfect for getting the times and positions of your favourite places all year round
Probably my last trip before I go to Switzerland. The sky was looking super promising but the sunset never made it so I went for some long exposure shots instead.
I reckon the poppies only have another 5 days or so in them so if you are going to head there do it soon. Message me if you need directions.

Just had one very full day out with the camera. Meet various photographers on the way. Was out from sunrise to sunset. This shot was on the way home. Single shot and only tweaked the contrast. Amazing sunset over the top of Fairburn towards Ferrybridge. Loads to look through, seen kingfishers, bramblings as well as some great landscapes. Hope everyone has had a top weekend. I'm off to photograph a party!

Taking photos of this landmark (Battersea Powerstation) brings back memories of my good old Panasonic FZ5... When I got into photography around February'07 little did I know I was going to start getting really serious about it, I mean all I really wanted to do is take snaps of my wife and kid.... I have now abandoned my great FZ5 (well given it to my dad) and lets just say I really enjoy being on flickr together with everyones inspirational images.... Thank You Flickr Community.....

Managed to enter the main building but we were quickly picked up my security. For those wanting a little info on the building I stole the below from wikipedia
Battersea Power Station is a now unused coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames, near Battersea in London. The station comprises two individual power stations, built in two stages in the form of a single building. Battersea A Power Station was built first in the 1930s, with Battersea B Power Station to its east in the 1950s. The two stations were built to an identical design, providing the well known four chimney layout. The station ceased generating electricity in 1983, but over the past 50 years it has become one of the best known landmarks in London and is Grade II* listed.[1] The station's celebrity owes to numerous cultural appearances, which include a shot in The Beatles' 1965 movie Help! and being used in the cover art of Pink Floyd's 1977 album Animals.

One of Scotland's largest but most polluting powerstations which was decommissioned last year. This had quite a serious effect on our village of Kincardine as many of the people worked there.
coal mine in the background - Tarong Power Station, 180 kilometres north-west of Brisbane, is one of Queensland's largest power stations. With a total generating capacity of 1400 MW, it plays a key role in enabling Stanwell to supply low cost, reliable electricity.
The first of Tarong Power Station's four generating units became operational in May 1984 and the station was completed in 1986. The project employed more than 2000 people and cost more than $1.2 billion.
Tarong Power Station can supply electricity to the equivalent of eight cities the size of Toowoomba - big in Queensland terms.
