Hot off the press: I'm winner at the annual Mostovna Photography contest. 3 different exposures of -0.7eV, 0 & +0.7eV. Photomerging in Photomatix and further editing in CS3 (layer masking on that man, clone stamp, layers of level, curves, photo filter and sharpness)
Camera was handheld.

this shot was taken within a few minutes of the image i posted the other day (see below) ... the weather in the altamont hills was crazy that day ... it was windy and the clouds were racing across the sky ... the light and the resulting shadows moving across the hills were fascinating to watch .... while i was taking this image the rain had just started again, and by the time i got back to my car it had turned into a downpour, and later hail the size of dimes ...
a hint of texture and a touch of orton here and there ... and a fence seems to have gotten in the way ... trina or char probabaly put it there just to irritate me! ... ;-) hff
2nd try. The photo consists of 6 separate pictures stitched together. Obviuosly the smoke had shifted causing problems.
This powerplant was built in the 1920's and was a high end powerplant at that time, built to gain electricity through burning coal. It has been expanded during the decades but, as many powerplants built for coal, was closed down in the 1990's.
