No, not sleeping.
a guilty pleasure for me: the dogs.
they eat better than we do.
they shed hair all over and they're supposed to be non shedding.
they wake me at night.
I have to change the sheets a lot.
the power company says I wash too much---dog stuff.
they don't let me sit in any of the chairs.
they ruin them anyway [the chairs]
and we love them to death.

Joy and balm of my life the memory of the hours

Joy and balm of my life – for me, who had no use

(translated by Daniel Mendelsohn)
“Walking and talking are two very great pleasures, but it is a mistake to combine them. Our own noise blots out the sounds and silences of the outdoor world … The only friend to walk with is one who so exactly shares your taste for each mood of the countryside that a glance, a halt, or at most a nudge, is enough to assure that the pleasure is shared.”
C.S.Lewis, Surprised by Joy, 1955
And more pleasure :-)
