“If you don't love the sea, the sun, all the simple pleasures, what sort of life are you going to have?”
― Marty Rubin
No, not sleeping.
a guilty pleasure for me: the dogs.
they eat better than we do.
they shed hair all over and they're supposed to be non shedding.
they wake me at night.
I have to change the sheets a lot.
the power company says I wash too much---dog stuff.
they don't let me sit in any of the chairs.
they ruin them anyway [the chairs]
and we love them to death.

It comes in many forms and mine was gained from a long awaited visit to my local beach at Steetley tonight.
I say pleasure because having not been out for months now, it was joy to have a camera in front of me again.
It was an incoming high tide and although there wasn't much colour in the sky, due to the abundance of cloud, I managed to capture some nice water movement around the wooden remains.
Beautiful pink roses in an old handpainted porcelane box.
My thanks to Lenabem Ana for the texture.
Joy and balm of my life the memory of the hours
when I found and held on to pleasure as I wanted it.
Joy and balm of my life – for me, who had no use
for any routine enjoyment of desire.

The Pleasures of Simplicity
In the quiet nooks
that's where I am drawn
to the pleasures of simplicity,
to the beauty of the absence
of tumult, of storms.
I spy with my little soul
the wonders of the world
at its most ancient.
The wonders of hideaway nature
far from the touch and interference
of individuals and civilization;
-a retreat into a heaven
of solitude, serenity
of green and brown
blue, red, and gold.

“Walking and talking are two very great pleasures, but it is a mistake to combine them. Our own noise blots out the sounds and silences of the outdoor world … The only friend to walk with is one who so exactly shares your taste for each mood of the countryside that a glance, a halt, or at most a nudge, is enough to assure that the pleasure is shared.”
C.S.Lewis, Surprised by Joy, 1955
Sadly this lovely old pier burned down just 2 days after this picture was taken.

Happy weekend to all full of pleasures !
I walked from Waterloo Bridge - Aldwych - St. Paul's - The City in search for something inspirational to photograph other than the norm. I had a couple in mind but road work furnitures got in the frames. I will have to return on better days
At London Bridge - another 15 minutes walk to home I eventually got the camera out to hopefully get something to take home.
A three hour bicycle ride in the morning plus another three hours of walking with 10 kilos in the bag in the evening. How long can I keep this up? Hopefully for a very long time yet.... :-)
I wished you all have an early gorgeous weekend!
Good Morning/Day Everyone....Have a good one :):):) ♥
