The Philippine cobra is a very dangerous snake, you have less than 2 hours to live if bitten, now there's a sobering thought.

This photo is not mine, I wish I had taken the shot, it was e-mailed to me by a friend. There was no link given thus, there is no proper attribution. I liked it so much and I thought of sharing it with my Flickr friends.

The Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) is a giant forest raptor endemic to the Philippines. It is considered one of the largest and most powerful eagles in the world. Unfortunately, it is also one of the world's rarest and certainly among its most critical endangered vertebrate species. The eagle is known to be geographically restricted to the islands of Luzon, Samar, Leyte and Mindanao.

Today's Bible Verse:

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Hundred islands , Philippines

Part 2 of the serie of the hundred islands.

One of our main trips in the Philippines was to the hundred islands in the island of Luzon.

It is a national park and a major tourist spot.

The islands, totaling 124 at low tide and 123 at high tide, are scattered in Lingayen Gulf. Only three of them have been developed for tourism: Governor Island, Quezon Island, and Children's Island.

The islands are believed to be about two million years old

The location is in Pangasinan in Luzon and the nearest city is Alaminos.

We have had a great time here, a beautiful view, good food and friendly people.

The beautiful small beaches, the tropical views, the many fish will always be remembered as one of the highlights in our life.

We choose Philippines.

Philippines , sunset sunrays

Our daily view, in the foreground a cornfield and mountains in the background, gave us pleasure almost every day. The cornfield was already harvested when we came.

The sunrays at sunset time that you see here were visiting only two evenings during our holiday.

We have had a fine holiday , travels , and family meeting and we are looking forward towards the next visit the the Pilipinas and ofcourse to show the photographical results of this visit to this beautiful country.

El Nido is known as the Jewel of Philippine tourism. It is the perfect island destination for naturalists and ecotourists.

It houses one of Palawan's greatest natural treasures: the Bacuit Archipelago.

The Bacuit Archipelago is like Vietnam's Ha Long Bay and the Phi Phi area of southern Thailand, only more beautiful and astonishing. You can explore the bay on a local banca and discover the stunning lagoons and white sand beaches. The place is so romantic that it has inspired a number of impromptu and atypical weddings and the big lagoon has always been the favourite place.

The towering limestone karst cliffs, unique in this town, rank El Nido as anyone's dream. With its limestone cliff scenery, it makes you wonder how such a magical place exists in such a small town. The view from the town's foreshore is simply breathtaking.

As we are near the end of our travel serie from the Philippines , one more time, the Hundred islands, the main highlight of our holiday.

Plaza Hotel. The building with the white arches on top is actually another hotel, the Marmont. At the left side of the picture, look for the black sign with the gold "P" that marks the "front" portion of the Plaza. I often stayed at the Plaza in 1974-75. The fence marks the site of the Public Market, which burned between my tours of duty at San Miguel. At this time, the Public Market was about a block away to the left. By the early 1980s, a new Public Market had been built on the burned out site. Sep 1974
