They love eating spoiled apples -- it's even funnier to watch them eat the apples because they get it all over their beak and face, haha.

so as i was mapping our property i discovered something so interesting. . . the very old apple trees were planted in a equilateral triangle (not so bizarre as hexagons are a customary orchard planting technique) but that it was a perfect 33 ft equilateral trialngle that points due north! AND i discovered this on 3-13-11 exactly one year since we have moved to our house/farm. i know these numbers are very mystical. .. i just don't know why yet.

the book i'm referencing is the second book Edible Forest Gardens by Dave Jacke (who is coming to teach a day of my PDC course at the end of march!!) woot!

Strawberrys are great - just cut some runners off a friend's patch (thanks dad!), and away they go. We're now growing more than we eat. The strawberry plants are in one of the perennial plant sections of our no-lawn garden.

Our five chooks are firing out six eggs per day now, in their 4-paddock rotating chicken run. Again, we can't eat that many eggs!

And meanwhile, lots of other edible plants are busy growing, in both the rotating & wicking veggie garden, the other perennial beds, or the young fruit trees that share space with our chickens.

This beautiful sheet was happily collaborated on by a group

of 15 ~ 25 people..at the former Robert Barton Trust in Glastonbury.

And it encapsulates pretty much everything that permaculture is about: nature, beauty, happiness and community.

You can find lots of information about Permaculture on the internet.. a simple Search will make that abundantly clear; wikipedia is a good start..

These days courses are happening nearly all over the planet and you can find hundreds - if not thousands - of videos on YouTube to deepen your knowledge on the many aspects.

Herewith an example of how things can be done

in even the most adverse of circumstances.

And obviously: if it can be done there..

it can easily be done just about anywhere:

Community art.. many people magickally collaborating

to .. their appreciation for + aspects of permaculture.

Here's the autumn look of my side garden, which has appeared in my photostream in summer. It's a permaculture design which shades the patio and house in summer and lets in warm sunlight in winter. But in autumn it's at its best!

On the edge of the dunes, a small space of permaculture has been arranged to invite people to practice it ... it is a nice little corner cultivated ... unfortunately the weather very capricious has much damaged.
