While walking the dogs on the beach I took some photos of them.

The Puppy is a male called Cracker and the old dog is a bitch called Pebbles

Is this a new government initative, a pebble count on britains beaches ? I could only see pebble no 5 , maybe the rest washed a way !!!

One of a few long exposures I managed while traveling Northland a week or so ago. Taken at Pebble Bay, Matapouri (New Zealand). I wish for a lens twice as wide as the one I have right now... There were beautiful Pohutukawa trees growing on the side of the cliff; if only I could fit in a few! The eye must be the best lens there is for appreciating those panoramic views...

I have watched this little rascal. He runs around the garden diving into the pebbles. Selects a big juicy pebble and takes it off somewhere?! I know he also buries some in the lawn, the plant pots and anywhere else that takes his fancy. It's not as if he doesn't have any tasty morsels in this garden as I put out peanuts in their shells for the little blighter (which btw he scoffs along with the Jackdaws and Magpies ... He scoffs the nuts not the birds :).) So I am assuming he is being a smart arse squirrel by putting other squirrels (and some clever birds) off the scent. He is very amusing to watch and keeps me entertained on another very wet, windy and chilly day ...

these beaches are all close to each other - two are beside each other and one a little further north

1. korora pebbles, 2. green ones are hard to find, 3. charlesworth bay pebbles, 4. moonee beach

These pebbles reminded me of a story a teacher of mine told us back in school.

Well I had to put this shot on... exactly where my car keys must have dropped out of my pocket when I got down low to take this view.... Thankfully there was an happy ending to that incident :))
