bambini, ottimi accostamenti, pace recidiva, pavoni e calcutta.

Assisi, Peace March, October 19, 2014 St. Francis church

An estimated 400,000 - 500,000 people marched in Washington D.C. yesterday in protest of the occupation of Iraq, etc. Mass media here in the U.S. rarely shows photos of D.C. streets packed with hundreds of thousands...

Here's the whole set.

Or view as a slideshow.

Lake City sophomore Tim Baase listens while his fellow students speak during the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Peace Vigil, following the commUNITY March, where students marched across campus and into downtown Mount Pleasant to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

This disgruntled gentleman said he was thrown out of some protest groups. His sign is folded in half, the upper half indicating, "MOTHER."

my most favorited picture, bypassing this chestnut.

update: now surpassed by this much worhthier foe!

tuesday september 21 is the international day of peace

you might quiet the whole world for a second

if you pray.

and if you love, if you really love

guns will wilt.

"bogus potus" say some of the montclair presbyterian church oakland.

our supposedly democratic congresswoman is not representing her anti-war san francisco district! this was a major theme in the signage saturday.

(upon edit -- she's finally starting to oppose the war. she has to get re-elected in san francisco, and it may also be a signal that the mainstream of the party is shifting in regard to this issue. spring, 2006)

First they came for the Dalits

and I did not speak out

because I was not a Dalit

Then they came for the Muslim

and I did not speak out

because I was not a Muslim

Then they came for the Christians

and I did not speak out

because I was not a Christian

Then they came for me

and there was no one left

to speak out for me.
