Portland, Or has one of the great Japanese gardens in the US. It was designed by Takuma Tono beginning in 1963, and opened in 1967. It's all quite beautiful, even in (too) early spring.

In every shipyard I've been in (and there are many) there is a designated "safe path" that will get you from one end to the other without putting yourself into too much danger. On Friday afternoons, the path is quite clear, but mid-week, it's still a game of dodge 'em with the forklifts.

The path along the top of the ridge - I love the curve of the wall...

The tarmac path to the bus stop has become so overgrown that a desire path has been made to it. This demonstrates the low priority councils give to pedestrians and bus passengers :(

I register my images AND this awesome copyright notice with the US Copyright Office and I can be a real asshole about people or companies stealing my images. That said: I ask you not to download any products (primarily Android apps) created by Swiss Codemonkeys and/or AppBrain. They took my images and other flickr user's images (taken through flickr's API) and used them without permission in their wallpaper app which was distributed to millions of android users. Tell your friends, tell your flickr contacts, and complain to flickr. Only assholes and idiots steal images. Thanks.
