Wo im 16. Jh eine alte Wasserburg stand, ließ Fürst Pückler gut 300 Jahre später einen Pleasureground mit Ententeich, Wasserläufen, Orangerie, Gewächshäusern und Küchengarten um die über die Jahrhunderte hinweg immer wieder erneuerten und veränderten Gebäude anlegen.

Heute erstreckt sich ein gepflegter Landschaftspark rund um den Komplex, der trotz seiner Lage am äußersten Ende Deutschlands jede Menge Besucher anzieht.
