I just want to wish you all a great day! I have some things to do today so I'll try to catch up with you all later. Hugs!
The red panda (Ailurus fulgens), also called lesser panda, red bear-cat and red cat-bear, is a small arboreal mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and south-western China that has been classified as vulnerable by IUCN as its wild population is estimated at less than 10,000 mature individuals. The population continues to decline and is threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation, poaching, and inbreeding depression, although red pandas are protected by national laws in their range countries.
The red panda is slightly larger than a domestic cat. It has reddish-brown fur, a long, shaggy tail, and a waddling gait due to its shorter front legs. It feeds mainly on bamboo, but is omnivorous and also eats eggs, birds, insects, and small mammals. It is a solitary animal, mainly active from dusk to dawn, and is largely sedentary during the day.
The red panda is the only living species of the genus Ailurus and the family Ailuridae. It has been previously placed in the raccoon and bear families, but results of phylogenetic research indicate strong support for its taxonomic classification in its own family Ailuridae, which along with the weasel, raccoon and skunk families is part of the superfamily Musteloidea. Two subspecies are recognized. It is not closely related to the giant panda.

Last year I had a chance to take this portrait while our family visiting the Panda family before they having a baby lately. The place was in Chieng Mai, Thailand. The shot had been taken in the low light condition in the zoo using 1/40 sec, hand-held.

This photo is an exception to my normal photos. Obviously a captive panda in a panda centre, would have to spend weeks if not months trying to find one in the wild!!

The giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca), also known as panda bear or simply panda, is a bear native in in south central China, mainly in Sichuan, but also in neighbouring Shaanxi and Gansu.
This species can be found in temperate mixed mountain forests at elevations of 1,200 to 4,100 metres, where there is an abundance of bamboo. As a result of farming, deforestation, and other development, the giant panda has been driven out of the lowland areas where it once lived.
While its numbers are slowly increasing, the giant panda remains one of the rarest and most endangered bears in the world.
Fewer than 1,900 of these black-and-white relatives of bears survive in the wild. About 100 live in zoos around the world.
The giant panda is easily recognized by the large, distinctive black patches around its eyes, over the ears, and across its round body.
Adults measure around 1.2 to 1.7 m long, including a tail of 10 - 15 cm, and weigh between 75 kg and 135 kg.
Males are usually larger than the females.
Though it belongs to the order Carnivora, the giant panda's diet is 90 -99 % bamboo.

Here is something a little different that I put together. I have combined 2 Images Together here, the Waterfall Image I captured while up in Qld on Holiday's, the Waterfall is Buderim Falls on the Sunshine Coast. The other Image I captured of Funi the Panda Bear at The Adelaide Zoo.
This one took some hours to complete and I never thought I would get it done, but in the end I got there! So I thought I would share it on Flickr and see what the people think of "Panda Paradise". Both Images Captured on the Canon 7D.
The Waterfall Image is done in HDR, while the Panda is a natural capture. Please let me know your thoughts and thank you so very much in Advance :)
Thank you for viewing :)
