There are two distinct classes of what are called thoughts: those that we produce in ourselves by reflection and the act of thinking, and those that bolt into the mind of their own accord ...
~ Thomas Paine
Vision is a beautiful picture clicked with the roll of soul involving mind and heart to do introspection of the past, reflection of the present and connection with the future to see things considered impossible as possible.

*portrait from memory, I first met Diana as a 15 year old when she came into my mother's humble, converted garage studio to look at my mother's portraits. /my mother had a stand with an umbrella on Avenida Central where she did sketches of tourists but not oil paintings/ Diana, at that time a young woman had her own stand selling her highly original art which we used to call in those days; "arte macanudo" but none was figurative. She wanted a portrait done of her by my mother but not having any money she offered some of her art in trade for one of my mothers. My mother consented and Diana came several times to our studio to have herself painted. She was at that time, not an attractive woman, yet I have never forgotten her sad eyes.
Later, much later she became famous for her highly original, pre-colombian inspired art and wood batea carvings. Her art is deeply rooted in her native Cocle and all her works were painted with pigments found in the plants and minerals of her earth which she ground into powder liquifying it make her own colors.
Over the years, I have seen her visiting my parents and both admired each others works. After my mother's passing i inherited two of her works, one that graces the wall of our son the other that sits comfortably on on a buffet in our music room.
p.s. I understand that after Diana's passing, she was honored as a "national treasure" by the people of Cocle, Panama. But looking her up on wikepedia could not find anything on her.
like most of her peers, she is sadly forgotten yet her art continues to live on as does all "pre-colombian" art
these are the two paintings I layered on the last image
thanks for comments faves views and invites much appreciated
