This year I had the opportunity to speak at O'Reily's OSCON in Portland. It was my first trip to Portland. I have to admit, I was impressed. It's a very nice, low key, city.
On my final night there, I took some time to take some shots around town. This was how I finished the evening. On the bank of the river overlooking downtown. I must have been invisible while I was there. A couple decided to go for a swim in their underwear and change out of their wet clothes right in front of me while I was taking my shots.
This is a 5 exposure HDR image processed in Photomatix Pro and finished in LR5.

toastforbrekkie: That took some serious time!
This week (7/25/11), I'm currently in Portland for the OSCON Convention (Open Source Technology). Last Friday, I decided to take a ride on TriMet's WES Commuter Rail system between Beaverton and Wilsonville. With the return of freight trains to Santa Rosa last week, and the advent of the SMART commuter train, I had to get a sneak peek of what SMART will look like.
SMART will be using similar Rail Diesel Cars when service begins in 2014-2015. WES is super convenient, and offers a great commuter alternative for traffic on SR 217 and the 5!
