Took an afternoon train down to London. I had to go to London to conduct a couple of interviews with academic at LSBU and had managed to arrange them whilst Paul is staying in London.
Met Paul after he finished work and we decided to go back to the hotel to drop our bags off and also to check on where might be best to grab some food.
I had brought an Orange Wednesday voucher with me, so after some debate we decided we'd go for it and maybe go and see a film as well.
We considered our options and decided to head to Leicester Square where there are various cinemas to choose from and also we presumed there'd be a Pizza Express nearby.
We found the Pizza Express closest and it was closed for refurb. So then we had to ask a policeman where there was another and luckily it was a 5 min walk away.
Arrived at the restaurant and it was packed. Fortunately we got a place in the basement part and then got served at an ok-ish speed.
We shared garlic bread and dough balls and then I had a Pollo Pancetta pizza. Really nice. Is the pizza I tend to have. Chicken, pancetta, mozarella and yellow and red peppers. Yum :-)
After food we toyed with whether to go and see a film. Paul wanted to see Iron Man 2 but the only place showing it cost £15 a ticket, which even with a 2 for 1 ticket would cost more than we normally pay for one ticket back home. We had a look what else was on in the vicinity and opted to go and see The Disappearance of Alice Creed -ticket was £11.50 for 2 so a good enough deal. The film was good if a little scary - all about a kidnapping and was quite gruesome in parts.
After the film we headed back to the hotel and caught up with all the pre-Election news. Debated whether I should stay up all night to see the results come in - I decided I would try for a bit, and see how long I'd last.
