Welcome BACK to Sugar Mill Gardens in Port Orange, Florida! I am Tigger, the Gatekeeper and your Host.
A little about me: I am "owned" by no one but I have volunteered (in exchange for food and a really good health plan) here for several years now. I have greeted many visitors that come to see the flowers, as well as the dinosaur statues that are in the gardens! I confess, that I used to belong to a family that lives near here, but I am very independent and ran away to live here...the family found me in the gardens and brought me back to their home, but I knew by then I liked the outdoor living, and I ran away again and went to my true "home". I never leave the gardens now (the family gave up), and I am well cared for by volunteers. I refuse to go inside a building (even during hurricanes). I take my gatekeeper job very seriously!
One of the visitors to the gardens was Tiger Lair, who decided I needed publicity. She introduced me to everyone on Flickr, and then later she set me up with my own Flickr group Tigger, the Gatekeeper's Garden Clubhouse and my very own Flickr Pro account. And the rest is history.
Anyway, let me show you a little MORE of the gardens where I live...there are so MANY flowers, trees and plants, but I mostly wanted to show you my faves, which are the ORANGE ones! I love my home, especially the orange parts...please note that the gardens are located in Port ORANGE, Florida. I think maybe they named it that because everyone that lives there are really smart and loves the color orange. Some people think it has to do with the fruit which is grown in Florida. Nawwwwwwwwwwww....
