Ramsey is a small market town in Cambridgeshire. It developed around a Benedictene Monastery, Ramsey Abbey. The remains are now part of the town's secondary school.
On the other hand, this little balloon Ramsey is full of energy and really cute!!
Manx electric tramcar No. 2 sat outside Ramsey shed on a David Williams charter 17/4/15. There are plans for Ramsey shed to be knocked down later this year due to it being unsafe.

One of the toughest hikes I have done in the Smokies--- uphill continuously for 4 miles, rising nearly 2400 ft over that time, then fight gravity downhill all the way back again . Yet the falls themselves are worth the trip, if you can do it.
Ramsey Cascades is the tallest waterfall in the park, as well as one of the most spectacular. Water drops 100 feet over rock outcroppings and collects in a small pool where numerous salamanders are often found.
Saw a blogpost today about the falls, and was inspired to dig back into the archives for this one. Enjoy.
Matt Furie just had a week long residency with Islands Fold. Here's a collab we worked on. More Furie radness coming soon! We loved Matt being here.

Ramsey has the largest harbours on the Isle of Man. With rain blowing in in waves we walked the harbour and town centre then went for cover in a cafe.

I've been planning my next back-packing trip which will be the Wainwright Coast to Coast - 192 miles or thereabouts (in fact, probably more as I hope to take some of the high level routes through the Lakes). As part of my planning I thought I'd have a look through my back-packing trip along the length of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path last year and I came across this panorama.
It is several shots stitched as I only carried my 20mm pancake lens on my Olympus because to be honest, I was carrying enough weight without adding other lenses. If you read my blog at the time, you will know that I had some pig-awful weather but this day was beautiful.
Ramsey Island is the fourth largest in Wales but is resident to just two people who are its wardens. The rest of the inhabitants are seals and birds. What a great place to live :)!

Had a little play with an image of Ramsey Pier.

This bridge rising 57 feet above the Black River in the Upper Peninsula town of Ramsey, Michigan was built in 1891 by the Chicago and Northwestern Railway Company, and is constructed of limestone quarried form Kaukauna, Wisconsin. A series of arches, each with a center keystone at the top, locks the entire structure. It is one of the few arch bridges of this type in existence. Best viewed LARGE.
