I found a nice opening in the sky. The waves lapping in , diagnally opposite balance the view. Shot two sections separately with > 50% overlap.
While boating we quite often experience weather changes and you will notice that it was raining away from us and in this instance we got back home before experiencing the storm. We are not always so lucky.
For a different effect, I tried editing this one on my ipad.

♥ EXPLORE & Front Page ♥.... 2-17-09.... Best Position # 39....THANK YOU!
Well, as most of you know, I'm never satisfied with one facet of art. You will never know what I'm going to put up on Flickr from one day to the next. Sometimes I don't even know until a moment or two before an upload! Ha! Let's just say, I enjoy diversity.
Anyway, this was an ordinary photo, but after "tweaking" it in Picnik, I ended up liking this version better. I guess you will either hate it or love it. I hope it's the latter.
Have a wonderful TUESDAY everyone! And thank you always for the views, the wonderful comments and the faves! I do believe I have the BEST FRIENDS on Flickr!
EXTRA NOTE: Thank you to JohnnyNeo and Sally - dolpharius for getting the SS of my Front Page photo yesterday! You two ROCK! ♥
I couldn't make up this photo if I tried. This is what I saw when I walked out the door this morning.
Another from yesterday morning, I got pretty wet getting this shot, luckily I had with me my cameras new rain coat. This was taken about 10 minutes after yesterdays post (about 20 minutes after what would have been sunrise if I could've seen it) and was one of those shots that I very nearly didn't get due to the fact I was just about to head off. As I walked underneath the pier and turned back I saw this ominous sky so I decided to put the rain cover on and grab a couple of shots. As I was stood there taking the shots the Sun came out from behind the cloud bank which it had been hiding and lit up the side of the pier and reflected perfectly off the window to create the Sun burst.
Taken with d3100 and 18-55mm kit lens.
Any constructive crit welcomed.
Cheers,
Gary.
Or would have been if was moving towards us instead of away. Suspect it might have been responsible for the state of JF's car when I met him though
This was another storm, much the same as others that I have seen roll into Lajamanu. I was lucky enough to knock off work, race home and get my camera and go to the highest point in Lajamanu.
I was really enjoying photographing lightning the other day until it started striking a little too close for comfort! I took a three shot bracket and at the end of a 10 second exposure the camera captured a nice streak. Instead of merging all three to HDR, I used this shot with the lightning and another underexposed shot and combined the best of both in photoshop using masks. Then I did some tweaking to the colors.
Another walk in Tegg's Nose Country Park, and the weather was much better than this dramatic cloud would have us believe... I saw several people in short sleeves (it's October!!!) and there were butterflies in abundance :D. Fingers crossed the bright days continue a while longer.
A work trip to London left enough time to get a few (600) photos; this spectacular cloud appeared above Westminster the other night. Looking like something from Dr Who, you could imagine the Daleks appearing at any time....
Yesterday we had severe thunderstorm warnings again. Twice we had heavy rainfalls with small hailstones. So we figured the safest spot to be was in the car and we went for a Sunday drive. There was plenty to see for most of the afternoon. This is our local marina just around noon.
This is a 4 shot panorama of storm clouds over the Great Salt Lake in northern Utah. Edited in Lightroom 5 & combined in Photoshop.
