Incoming waves at Ocean Beach on Fire Island in New York (NY), United States (USA). #longisland #newyork #usa #beaches
the sun above trying to break through this cloud that has formed, producing these beautiful rays of light that made inside the reef here at Sugar Beach sparkle. I will truly miss looking at the Ocean and the way the light shimmers upon it like this, or the way it illuminates it at sunset.
That is my family in the 2 kayaks, free to use from the hotel water sports hut, it was quite shallow this side of the reef so perfect for this.
I don't know if they could see the water sparkling around them like I could, I forgot to ask.
The beauty of nature is often in the simple things.....

The Pacific ocean in all its glory as the waves move around some rocks near the shore. I used a long exposure to try to capture some of that...
PACIFIC OCEAN (June 26, 2018) The crew of the Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Annapolis (SSN 760) launched two Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles (TLAMs) off the coast of Southern California as part of a Tomahawk Flight Test (TFT). This launch was a demonstration of strike capabilities from the sea and showed the Navy's ability to conduct forceful military operations in the Pacific. Gathering fog along rugged Big Sur coastal cliffs
One more photograph from my May Day quick visit to the Big Sur Coast and the lower Monterey Peninsula. I visited fairly early in the morning — not as early as dawn, but certainly before most of the tourists showed up along this popular coast on this weekend day.
I started with a plan to visit Point Lobos — and I did later end up there — but I was distracted by the formation of thing fog right along the waterline. More typically I would expect to see thick fog in the early morning, left over from the night before, with murky conditions until some clearing happens later on. But on this morning the pattern seemed reversed. It started out clear and then as the morning wore on the weather changed and a beautiful misty quality appeared along the coast, in places leading to the formation of fog.

SurfsUp dude...
This was taken when my friend caught a wave whilst i stood back watching with my camera.
Beautiful right ?? This was the only reason i decided to conquer my fear of snorkeling. For many years friends and family would beg of me to join them under the sea, everyone kept saying how peaceful and simple it was, that there was nothing to fear. Well, i hate big fish and I was so afraid of freaking out and forgetting how to breath under water.
But, on this very day I stared at this magnificent ocean and went for it . I snorkeled for a full on hour with a beginners group. Little by little i let go of my fear and I was finally able to observe all of the magic the ocean has to offer. it was magnificent !

Looking back through my HD I realize how many pictures never see the light of day ! So, i decided to dig em back up and give them their 15 mins of fame. Most of these photos were taken during vacations, trips and while i was learning how to use my camera :) . Hope you all enjoy them
Enjoying the beach...(the 'foggy appearance is a haze we call vog-volcanic emissions that sometimes blow our way from Big Island, Hawaii).

I climbed up a mountain, and looked off the edge
At all of the lives that I never have led
There's one where I stayed with you across the sea
I wonder do you still think of me
I carry your image always in my head
Folded and yellowed and torn at the edge
And I've looked upon it for so many years
Slowly I am losing your face
The sun and the moon
An ocean of air
So many voices
But nothing is there
The ghost of you asking me why
Why did I leave
Oh the ocean rolls us away
And I lose your hand through the waves
