Till my soul is full of longing
For the secret of the sea,
And the heart of the great ocean
Sends a thrilling pulse through me.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The largest ocean on Earth, almost half of all ocean water on Earth.
I think it's beautiful and never get tired of looking at it. Every day, it has a unique color like on no other day.
It was both a bit drizzly and a bit sunny yesterday morning and then also with the swell and the spray the cliffs were drenched and glistening. Together with the gentle spring air , It was as they say back home in Ireland a 'soft' morning .
Swirls and Curves in the Ocean, and a splash in the foreground. A 4GB memory card used up to capture this one. Saturation and Levels altered in photoshop to enhance the motion of the sea and the colour in the sky.
Headed up to Mona Vale yesterday morning for sunrise. Was overcast and not much colour, but still a nice morning to be out.
another shot of last night's sunset.
this shot was taken from right here on the bluffs near sands beach, goleta.

Another shot from yesterday morning, about 45minuites before the sun broke the horizon and as the street lights were still flickering away. I'd just parked the car, walked round past the back of the Grand Hotel and to the top of the steps that lead down to the rocks under the pier as the light started to glow in the distance. As i'd misjudged the tide I couldn't get down onto the rocks straight away, so took a few shots from the top of the steps. The silence here, at 5:15 am is unbeleivable. So much so that I felt obliged to turn off the button beep noises on my remote timer. It felt rude having it on when the only other thing I could hear was the waves gently crashing against the rocks below!

Again, thanks for looking everyone :)
One of the magic locations on the south coast of NSW, Camel rock. After a camp out over night, managed some nice light at sunrise. Was my second visit to this location and had the chance to meet a number of photographers at this increasingly popular location!

The sandy beach which approached the sunset disappeared from the congestion, people who play with the waves and those who watch the scenery slowly were seen.

Not taken this week, but I have been processing some older images from recent evening sessions at Milford and Keyhaven which I plan to publish if all goes well.

Tranquility
There exists a place on earth
Where one can find true peace
A place away from stress and pain
A place where all of it will cease
For some, it's near the ocean
That a calm can always be found
The waves carry all the stress away
With that familiar relaxing sound
The coolness of the water,
And the warmth of sunny rays,
It doesn't take very long at all
Before the world melts away...
"O what a blessed day that will be when I shall . . . stand on the shore and look back on the raging seas I have safely passed; when I shall review my pains and sorrows, my fears and tears, and possess the glory which was the end of all!"

Caresse sur l'océan
Porte l'oiseau si léger
Revenant des terres enneigées
Air éphémère de l'hiver
Au loin ton écho s'éloigne
Châteaux en Espagne
Vire au vent tournoie déploie tes ailes
Dans l'aube grise du levant
Trouve un chemin vers l'arc-en-ciel
Se découvrira le printemps
Caresse sur l'océan
Pose l'oiseau si léger
Sur la pierre d'une île immergée
Air éphémère de l'hiver
Enfin ton souffle s'éloigne
Loin dans les montagnes
Vire au vent tournoie déploie tes ailes
Dans l'aube grise du levant
Trouve un chemin vers l'arc-en-ciel
Se découvrira le printemps
Calme sur l'océan.

Crossing back to the mainland from Vancouver Island. There was a small break in the cloud cover.
(Believe it or not, this was a really dreary day, but this cloud formation struck me as being unusual. It took all my limited Lightroom skills to pull this shot out of the darkness. Not sure if I really like the quality and it could be headed for the delete bin.)
