Detail of the 70-year-old, 11-foot-tall neon Pegasus sign that once stood atop Downtown Dallas’ Magnolia Petroleum Building. It now alights in the lobby of Dallas’ Old Red Museum of the Dallas County History and Culture, having been replaced by a reproduction atop the restored Magnolia Building (now a boutique hotel) in 1999.

In that exciting darkness
the Carnival was an wondrous visual gumbo,
a mix of kind of spooky dark shadows
pierced by brilliant whirling neon energy,
with assorted noises and blaring music
coming from all directions,
all happening under a weirdly blue sky.
... this is what the Carnival felt like to children...
they SEE differently than us.

This striking neon sign for Las Vegas’ long-gone Chief Hotel Court was erected in 1940. Since 1997, it’s been a part of the collection of the Neon Museum and stands at the northeast corner of Fremont Street and 4th Street in Downtown Las Vegas.
This is an update of a building that I've posted before. New neon signs are constantly being added. This is where the neon signs from old business are put back in Edmonton for people to see.

Northern Advertising was established in 1955. The company repairs, restores, and produces custom neon signs. The company's owner, Dean Blazek, taught glass bending classes from 1978-1998. His impressive sign collection fills two buildings.

Yes, I know it's still November, but I couldn't resist posting one shot from my venture out last Friday morning to capture the Christmas lights in London.
I started at Regent Street then moved up to Carnaby Street, and it's those I want to post first.
Carnaby Street is like a neon wonderland, it looks so amazing all lit up. The decorations aren't really your traditional Christmas lights, each banner that goes across the street has a line from Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody lit up in different neon colours and I think it looks wonderful!
I'm not a massive fan of Christmas to be honest, call me a grinch but I just think it's all a little bit of an anti-climax for all the effort that goes into it. I do love how pretty everything looks though, I think I'm just a big fan of bright lights and pretty colours lol!!

Although it doesn't look like, it's a coffe shop roof wich have some colorful neon lights.

This image was made on November 24, 2004 as a near full moon lifted in the sky and was framed by the "O" in Soo. The bright neon sign had just been restored and placed back on the Superior depot. Originally removed and donated by the Soo Line to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, the sign sat in Duluth unused and gathering dust for nearly two decades. The private owner of the Superior depot paid to have the sign restored and attached to the depot in 2004 (LSRM still retains ownership). Sadly the sign is no longer illuminated but it still looks great on the depot.
