Part of our needle case collection in Ivory, the one that has tape measure
the top is made from tagua nut, a palm nut that looks and carves just like Ivory,
The beautiful thing about this nut is you don't have to bother the beautiful animals.
The ones with the hole are called Stanhole needle case, there are beautiful tiny photos in there.
This is my carving out of the tagua nut.
Front and back of the needle case. Partner - do you like this? If you don't I am VERY happy to keep it as I had so much fun making it! The fabrics are all sewing related!!! I will show the surprises inside another day!!! ;)
The London Modern Quilt Guild guild is exchanging needlebooks with the Vancouver MQG guild for Christmas! I made a raw edge applique spool of thread for this one. Hair elastic and button closure.

This Safeway logo often termed the "ribbon-leaf" was introduced on January 1st 1982 replacing the iconic Circle S symbol which was created in 1946. The "ribbon-leaf" or Square S as I call it was phased out in 2005 in favor of the "lifestyle S". Many Safeway locations still retain the Square S symbols both inside and out of their stores.
and yes the needlecase is a bit dusty in this scan...
