High Neb, Stanage Edge, Peak District, UK.
Still very windy up on the edges. 400 ISO and holding the tripod down with all my might. The wind the past few days has unfortunately affected the choice of compositions. I feel this isn't as good as it could be with the view of Stanage Edge stretching out obscured. But then again, without the conditions I probably wouldn't have chosen this view with the rock face.
As the sun rose between a gap in the clouds the light only directly hit the landscape for a brief moment.
I've decided I don't mind the burning out of the sun. A shorter exposure rendered the sky too dark. I've also decided I don't mind the flare in this instance.
Single exposure with HiTech 0.9 hard grad.
Looking westwards over Moscar Moor from below the edge of Stanage Edge. This is a viewpoint from a location just to the south of High Neb. This section is very popular with rock-climbers though not many were in attendance on this day. Possibly due to the near gale force winds blowing in from the west. The hills in the distance include Win Hill and Crook Hill which are located in the area surrounding Ladybower Reservoir.

A while ago I went for a walk with some flickr friends along the banks of the river Neb in Peel. This is one of the weirs on the river. The water level is quite low because we have had very little or no rain for some time.
Weirs are important along the course of a river as they help to aerate the water and keep the river from stagnating especially when the flow is slow.

Portraits of Neb (A fantastic Card & Mind Magaician). Taken in the deserted Glasgow Barrowlands July 2011.
A beautiful spot on the River Neb. Every time I'm here I seem to take photos of this view but for some reason don't get round to posting any! Well this time I decided to correct that. This is a lovely old road bridge over the River Neb and there is another arch hidden by the trees on the left that spans what was formerly a railway line connecting Peel to St Johns.
Sorry for my lack of activity ... life just gets in the way of flickr sometimes!

Looking roughly south-east from High Neb on Stanage Edge as the Sun finally breaks through and cast its rays over Hathersage.
