Nature is an infinite sphere of which the center is everywhere and the circumference nowhere.

Yellowstone is full of many colorful scenes, but The Grand Prismatic Spring tops them all IMHO.

We had a great week in Yellowstone, even though it rained for most of it. Never a bad day when there.

One of my objectives this trip was to hike up above it for a better shot to show off it's amazing colors and form.

The Opal and Turquoise pools are above it with the Excelsior pool steaming to the right.

"The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States, and the third largest in the world, after Frying Pan Lake in New Zealand and Boiling Lake in Dominica. It is located in the Midway Geyser Basin.

Grand Prismatic Spring was noted by geologists working in the Hayden Geological Survey of 1871, and named by them for its striking coloration. Its colors match the rainbow dispersion of white light by an optical prism: red, orange, yellow, green, and blue."

This is a shot from a hike I had up in Innerdalen this autumn.

Polygonia c-aureum lunulata : butterfly, Asian Comma

This photo was completed with two different shots. One was the milky way and the other was the foreground. The foreground was made by shining my flashlight into the water. I really wanted to get the mist in the water because it looked like spirits wandering off into the distance, but when I shined my flashlight, I created a blue ray of light disturbing the milky way.

We walked into the night to stargaze but as we watched the night turn itself into a beautiful light show, we were surprised with multiple animal sounds. One sounded like it was a large animal either entering the water or getting out. We also heard multiple frogs near our area as well as a lone owl hooting in the night.

Another shot of the blow-hole at Bicheno in Tasmania - I found this quite fascinating and was happy to watch it in action for quite some time.

This was shot with a 9 stop ND filter for 1s

Taken from a series of images at the Huntington Beach Pier, this particular photo really emphasizes how low the tide was that evening, as can be seen in the dramatic reflections off the shoreline.| www.RobertSternPhotography.com | | Facebook |

After the 4th of July Fireworks last night, we received a lot of rain in the Denver area, so it was very damp and a wee bit foggy for this morning's Sunrise at Chatfield Lake in Littleton, Colorado.

Fountainhead of Great Taipei, supplying both Taipei and New Taipei city's water

I have a feeling after a few days of rain that we are suppose to get, these beauties will be gone.

Hope your day is full of sunshine ;-)
