During my last visit to northern Iraq in 2012, I discovered this lake and beautiful nature when I was exploring the region, so I did not hesitate to capture this scene!!

Here is another shot of Natural Bridges from an evening spent at the beach with good friend Ian RZ68
a few weeks ago. The pinks behind the rock did not last very long but they were a delight indeed!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

#35 on explore and appeared on Front Page - thank you!
It looked like a fisheye photo to me at first (because of the round arches on the ceiling i guess), but as you can see, the stairs are straight, so no fisheye ;)
No HDR has been used, i just pushed the contrast and saturation up a bit.

While out visiting 'the wildlife photographer of the year 2012' exhibition I thought I'd share with you all this amazing view from the top of this beautiful building. Both the exhibition and the building is an absolute must if you've not been before.. Enjoy..
"The Natural Bridge is a naturally formed rock arch over Cave Creek (the headwaters of the Nerang River). It was formed from a waterfall which undercut a cave beneath the waterfall and dug a pothole on top, until the two joined and the creek flowed through the cave, leaving an arch across the front."
The Natural History Museum in London is a museum exhibiting a vast range of specimens from various segments of natural history. It is one of three large museums on Exhibition Road in South Kensington, the others being the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

I had to get rid of a ton of people when it came to the processing on this. The musuem is totally jam packed on the weekends, so it was impossible to get a shot without anyone in there.
Have a great weekend everyone. :-)
Hey everyone. I'm getting excited about my gallery event this weekend featuring photos from my travels to Haiti. You are all invited to come by to enjoy some artwork and live music. It's really satisfying to make large prints of these photos and see them come to life. I suggest you all make some prints of your favorite shots.
Here's the details.
Cafe Gallery
Location: 2417 Colorado Blvd. Eagle Rock, CA 90041
Time: 7:30PM Sunday, October 10th
The gallery will continue through the following Sunday the 17th.
Handheld shot using a Nikon D40x, 55-200mm lens (my other lens STILL hasn't come in) zoomed in all the way, no flash. The flower was positioned facing a window in my kitchen. Post processing included cropping, contrast adjustment and a tiny bit of noise reduction, all using Corel Paint Shop Pro XI. Not a "perfect" shot, but one of my personal faves anyway.
Our trip up the California coast was amazing. We ran into a lot of rain and we also saw moments like this. This is the first sunrise I have ever photographed and I have a new appreciation for people that do it often. Getting up a 4 a.m. to go to a dark beach that you've never seen before can be difficult, especially when it seems like there is no hope of getting any light. Thirty minutes before this scene it was raining and completely dark. It actually seemed to be getting darker by the minute when suddenly we saw cracks of light in the horizon. I knew at this moment that is was going to all pay off!
Natural bridge all covered in snow. Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah. Wishing everyone a very happy and peaceful Christmas and happy holidays to all my Flickr friends!
Here in the deep countryside you find quite some Wind Turbines, however, they do not look very nice in this beautiful landscape. Whether the thousands of sheep which live close to wind turbines like these artificial additions to nature - is doubtful.
During last night's walk through the fields I found this 'Natural Wind Turbine' and I think the sheep agree that this one is much nicer - though not effective for electrical power production
