I needed to get up at 4 am to enjoy this amazing view from mount Ogasawara, but it was totally worth it.
Have a nice day everyone!

I thought a little change of scenery was in order. I also promised a little bit of green.
Here is a snap of a little stand of aspens alongside the road. I am in Arizona en route to the next destination.
You can capture nice Half Dome reflection in cook's meadow during May- June timeframe when all the snow collected melts. The water is usually calm and the spot is easily accessible.

Yesterday... at Pandapas Pond.... fall is nearly done. Lots of browns and deep oranges, but I did manage to find some great reds and yellows. Good thing I went out yesterday... it's raining today. Rain will probably knock off some leaves.

I thought I'd post another photograph of the really cool Middle Waterfall On Hills Creek. Located in the Cranberry Wilderness West Virginia's Monongahela National Forest, I just fell in love with this waterfall. So many perspectives to shoot it from and you can't beat the cliff wall this 27 foot beauty spills over. I'll be honest, I'm looking forward to returning here some day, that is for sure.

Sunrise on Early Winter Spires of Liberty Bell Mountain, Washington Pass, Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Washington
In the northwest San Juans east of the small town of Ridgway resides a lonely tower: Chimney Rock (also sometimes called Chimney Peak, 11,781 feet).
In the late afternoon we left the Silverjack reservoir back to Ridgway. From Owl Creek Pass Road (Ouray County Road 8), we saw through the forest as the last rays of the sun made the mountain massif glow. Unfortunately there was only a clear view of the Chimney Rock in a curve, but enough to make a few last pictures of it to capture the experience.

We interrupt 'the Border's go to town' for this update: It's green in Washington....
After hiking through an area where the sound of rushing water serenaded me from all sides for a little over an hour I made a sharp turn on a bluff overlooking a stream and my breath was literally stolen from me to be surprised by this baby. Angel Falls lived up to it's name and I had it all to myself for twenty minutes. I decided I got what I wanted and turned to leave and a troop of ROTC Marines were coming up the trail. Only folks I saw all day.
Blow it up and step inside, take a deep breath, and zone....... :-)
