The 'one of those days' feeling from yesterday continued. Today I had an appointment at the hospital. Some stuff going on with my thyroid gland. Wanted to make a Polaroid in the hospital, my life in Polaroid is some sort of diary right?, but Eric and I both don't like hospitals. When coming home we got the scare of our life thinking there was a burglar in the house. It was false alarm luckily. Thinking about my Polaroid again, I tried to capture this sweet purple Spring flower. Last two shots weren't really good, my orange #sx70 needs a check. So the filmpack has moved on to another camera, the black 'army' one. The previous owner told me the camera was used in the army. I can imagine what life might have been for this camera because the camera door has been slightly bend. But it works. When moving the filmpack I had an adventure. Not sure if it's wise to share, you might roll over from laughing. Coming from the darkroom century I thought about if a red lamp would protect my filmpack from light. I had to dig deep into my piles of stuff to find the lamp. Used it and took a shot. Overexposed! What happened....? Well... red lamps work on photography paper. And as the Polaroid 'paper' is the magic of chemicals a red lamp is as bad as daylight. 39/365 Blue. I read a helpful discussion in the Flickr Impossible Project group about the yellowish outcome of some shots, and how to capture blue sky. A lot of blue sky overexpose and turn out yellow. I dialed this shot completely to dark. It should be only 2/3 to dark. And I let it develop at room temperature, no warming in my armpit. About 'the power of introverts in a world that can't stop talking'. The book is called 'Quiet'. Both the book and the word speak to me. The need for some quiet time seems endless. That's a difficult one. After three months of renovating our house with almost no days off, a lot of stress, bursts of anger and frustration and processing the grief of saying goodbye to our sweet little house the holidays seem to be an oasis of peace to me. The only thing I can say, that I've learned, is to love yourself, be patient with yourself. When you feel you need to do more but can't treat yourself with softness and forgiveness.
