Street Musicians in the Philippines will sometimes go from door to door offering to sing a song for a small fee. Many are blind, like the older gentleman here and sometimes the instruments are home made. These guys I met in the street and they were happy to sing a song for me. Bacolod City, Philippines.
For our our 30th wedding anniversary in 2008, Marg and I flew to Phoenix and from there drove to Denver. We basically followed the Colorado River until we lost it somewhere on the west side of the Rockies.
One of our stops was Monument Valley. On a beautiful desert morning we saw this young Navajo man sitting on his blanket in the middle of practically nowhere playing the most spiritually haunting music I'd ever heard. I found the picture the other day, relived the memories, and then decided to process it in way that captured the moment as I remembered it.
