The music is always there. In my head, in my heart, in my soul. It never ceases. There are different tunes: joyful ones, melancholic ones, horrible ones. Sometimes making me want to dance, sometimes making me want to scream. Sometimes I hate it and try to ignore it, try not to listen to it. Sometimes I embrace it and surrender to it. It's been my companion for as long as I can remember.
But to sing my own songs, I'll have to free myself from this shadow music.

These gents were playing some great bluegrass music at the Autumn Leaves Festival last October in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. I loved their music, and I also liked the spoons player’s “hairdo.”
