That's one seriously muscle-bound insect! By comparison, humans have just 629 muscles in a considerably larger body.
The caterpillar's head capsule alone consists of 248 individual muscles, and about 70 muscles control each body segment. Remarkably, each of the 4,000 muscles is innervated by one or two neurons.
Caterpillars have 12 eyes.
On each side of its head, a caterpillar has 6 tiny eyelets, called stemmata, arranged in a semi-circle. One of the 6 eyelets is usually offset a bit, and located closer to the antennae. You would think an insect with 12 eyes would have excellent eyesight, but that's not the case. The stemmata serve merely to help the caterpillar differentiate between light and dark. If you watch a caterpillar, you'll notice it sometimes moves its head from side to side. This most likely helps it judge depths and distances.

Myles MacInnes (born 10 May 1978, Broadford, Isle of Skye, Scotland), is better known by the stage name Mylo, is a Scottish electronic musician and record producer.
He has provided remixes for Scissor Sisters ("Mary"), Amy Winehouse ("Fuck Me Pumps"), The Knife ("You Take My Breath Away") and The Killers ("Somebody Told Me"). One of his works was a 2004 remix of Kylie Minogue's no 2 UK hit, "I Believe in You", which appeared on the single that peaked at no 3 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart. His biggest chart success to date came in the autumn of 2005. This was when the single "Doctor Pressure", a mash-up of his own song "Drop The Pressure" and Miami Sound Machine's "Dr. Beat", peaked at no 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The single performed well in the U.S., especially on the Hot Dance Airplay and Hot Dance Club Play charts, where it jointly made the Top 10.
"Muscle Car", the follow-up single to "Doctor Pressure", was a hit in the UK and European dance charts, reaching no 1 on the UK Club Chart in November 2005, and no 38 in the UK Singles Chart. The video that accompanied the single courted controversy as it featured two supposed Chinese spies - actually played by British actors Bruce Wang and Alex Liang - inventing an electronic fly to spy on the American president, George W. Bush. Mylo did not appear in the video.

My husband was in the hospital 4-3-06 (Baylor Hospital, Dallas, TX), and the construction going on outside his window (3rd floor) was fascinating. These guys are risk-takers!
Out back of an abandoned house stood a weathered barn. Most times these barns are empty however this one had a surprise! A Pontiac GTO!
Even though Alberta barrel horses have some time off over winter (or due to injury) muscle memory creates a physiological blueprint from repetition so they'll get back to where they were faster than it took them to learn to barrel race in the first place. Same goes for all athletes. They took this barrel a little too wide, you want to cut it closer to shave off time.

This is my first ever real autumn here in Boston. It is so mesmerizing to watch the colors change and then suddenly fade out. I am certainly not looking forward for it to get extremely cold, but I am prepared. I will be the warmest marshmellow shaped girl ever.
I haven't taken self portraits in a little while so it took a bit to get my bearings with these, it's really a muscle I need to work more often. But I am happy with the results.
The prime attraction for National Train Day in St. Paul, Great Northern SD45 No. 400, the Hustle Muscle, heads into Union Depot on May 8, 2014.
Ford began flexing its Mustang muscle in 1964, and by 1967, it looked like the springtime yellow convertible parked along Duplainville Road near Duplainville, Wisconsin, on May 18, 1992. Passing in the background is a Wisconsin Central southbound roaring by with two General Motors (EMD) SD45s from the same era. Twenty-cylinder SD45 production ran 1965 to 1971, with these two manufactured right toward the end, built for the fledgling Burlington Northern. Nonetheless, both neatly represent a “muscle era” of American machines.
