A stand of Australian native irises outside the Adelaide Brighton Cement social club, which has a mural painted on their front wall.
This mural is hidden away along a dead-end street in East Vancouver. The above portion is approximately 1/3 - 1/4 of the entire scene.
I left the grass and branch in the frame to show the reality of where this stunning work resides ... on its canvas of corrugated iron.
This mural is about 5 decks high and is directly across from the glass elevators. The light from above is direct sunlight shining through a glass ceiling that is 11 decks high.
ViewLARGE or ORIGINAL if you have time. Thanks!

An exquisite mural; a compicated issue.
The mural "NODAPL" is painted on a wall of Greenbriar Foods, a supplier to organizations of snack foods and candies that will be sold in fundraising events. It is located at the intersection of Orleans and Division Streets in the Detroit Eastern Market area.
NODAPL refers to the Dakota Access Pipeline, which is designed to carry oil from America's northern border (North Dakota) to its southern border (Texas), where it will be refined. The project is controversial and complicated. President Obama stalled the project to the delight of environmentalists and Native Americans whose lands it crossed. President Trump reinstated approval for the project.
The artist, "Sintex", is a well-known and accomplished contemporary artist who once became controversial himself, by painting over another artist's mural.
11-24-17 UPDATE: A pipeline in this region allowed a leak 220,000 gallons of oil, exactly what protesters feared would happen.
Moxy thought the Java Joes mural could be improved with a little bokeh.
