"Let's go to the movies" METRO-GOLDWYN-MAYER'S SCREEN FORECAST 1935-1936 $600 IN CASH PRIZES (See inside)

This is THE Batmobile used in Batman movies (from the viewpoint of someone being "run-over" by the speeding Batmobile). ; -)

Taken at Warner Brothers Studios, Burbank, California

Maybe "Fake Town" would be a better description. This is one street from the backlots of Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, California.

On the next street, workers were completely remodeling another street for a different movie. The complete process of rebuilding an entire street, changing even the tiniest details, is accomplished in only three days.

Home of the Stargate series is expanding again. The end of the day just before the sun went down, the reflections of the wet slab were quite perfect.

Best if viewed on black.......thank you for stopping by.

Old Tucson Studios is a movie studio and theme park just west of Tucson, Arizona, adjacent to the Tucson Mountains and close to the western portion of Saguaro National Park. Built in 1939 for the movie Arizona, it has been used for the filming of several movies and television westerns since then, such as Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and Little House on the Prairie. It was opened to the public in 1960, and historical tours are offered about the movies filmed there, along with live cast entertainment featuring stunt shows and shootouts.

The story goes that Roy O. Disney thought the water tower looked better with six legs instead of the normal four. So, he spent the extra money on the extra legs, not for added structural stability, but for aesthetics alone.

A rare example of Roy willingly spending extra money without Walt having to twist his arm.

Sesame Street, Hair, The Cosby Show, Goodfellas and so much more movies and series have been produced here. The property has been added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Kodak Gold 400 (Expired)

Warner Brothers Studio Building, Burbank CA

It was the first week of school after summer and some knuckle heads do a drive by on a group of teens walking down the street across from Crenshaw High. Two were hit but thankfully no one was killed.

The cowardly perpetrators that shot this young man don't need a reason.... Pay back.... mistaken identity.... wearing the wrong colors.... walking by your self..... walking in a group.....maybe he looked like a rival... so lets just Blast him any way..... what you looking at?..... hey lets not forget the young deaf woman and young deaf man that were gunned down when they were signing one another because the dumb ass thug thought they were throwing up gang signs. Our justice system is too slow, we need to execute these cold blooded murderers, execute them even if their victim lives so they can't contaminate the rest of the planet, OHH I'm sorry did I say something politically incorrect? Ask me if I care.

Looking down on Universal Studios "Courthouse Square".

Courthouse Square is a backlot located at Universal Studios. The set is composed of several facades that form an archetypal American town square with a courthouse as its centerpiece. The set is most famous for being featured as downtown Hill Valley in the Back to the Future trilogy.

My mom and her little sister and mother and their mother's cousin Mr. Simpson, visiting from out of town. Watts in Los Angeles. Circa 1936 or '37 Mr. Smpson is some how related to O.J. Smpson. Don't know for sure. My mom says they both have the same forehead, lol. OK... HAHAHA

The Walt Disney Studios

Burbank, CA

Born 110 years ago today, Walt's legacy continues in animation, film, design, theme parks, user experience, urban planning, and childhoods the world over. This shot was taken near sunset at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, a place where many of Walt's great ideas were birthed and executed, including the studio itself: one of the last "old Hollywood" studios remaining and functioning to this day.

The Partners statue is a staple at Disney theme parks the world over, but the one at the studios in Burbank is somewhat unique in that you can walk right up to it at eye level, whereas the theme park ones tend to be out of reach, surrounded by a garden and on a pedestal. Tokyo Disneyland's is similarly approachable although it is slightly raised.

Thanks for thinking big while still sweating the little things, Walt.

I believe I'll run down to the barber shop for a shave and a haircut. I might even get my shoes shined while I am there.

This is not a real barber shop, it is part of the back lot scenery at Walt Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando Florida. Taken with a Canon SX130. HDR processing with a B&W filter done in Dynamic Photo.

View of the Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. skyline at dusk from the Griffith Observatory.

2 of the Red Cars, 500 and 501 are replicas built to the original plans of the 1909 version and the 3rd car 1058 a 1000-class is a fully restored 1907-vintage Pacific Electric car.

Down San Pedro way is the Pacific Electric Railway Trolley cars aka BIG Red Cars which operate on the Port of Los Angeles Waterfront Red Car Line that is 1.5 mile long. The trolley line connecting points are the San Pedros World Cruise Center , Fanfare at San Pedro Gateway , Ports O' Call, 6th Street and the LA Maritime Museum, Fisherman's Wharf and 22nd Street Landing, and a few other attractions along the waterfront. The line is using a former Pacific Electric right-of- way, with traditional 600-volt DC overhead trolley wire.

Long Island City, NY

Admiring the Diagon Alley set. It was really like stepping INTO the book or movie and so marvelously detailed too.

Sesame Street, Hair, The Cosby Show, Goodfellas and so much more movies and series have been produced here. The property has been added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

We spent a day at Universal City. I took the opportunity to observe the sunset from this elevated location. Below are Universal City buildings.

I processed a balanced HDR photo from three RAW exposures, then desaturated the image and added some sepia.
