One of my favorite places to photograph in the fall.

This is the classic reflection view in Picture Lake,

NO MULTI INVITATIONS in your commenTs, Tks.

The La Sal Mountains just outside of Moab, UT are some of the most scenic I know!

Image Notes: This is a reprise of one of my first really popular images that I had originally shot on an ancient 4 mp Nikon Coolpix 4500. The key was hitting up this place at the right time of year to still have some greens and at least a bit of snow to work with. I used a polarizer and had a fantastic cloudy sky to cap the scape. No HDR on this one, plenty of DR in the -0.33 EV RAW.

A view towards Buachaille Etive Mor, "the great herdsman of Etive", a mountain at the head of Glen Etive, which also marks the entrance to Glen Coe, in the Scottish Highlands.

The vista from Laguna Azul towards the Torres del Paine.

The best-known and most spectacular summits of the National park are the three Towers of Paine . They are gigantic granite monoliths shaped by the forces of glacial ice.

The White Mountains of New Hampshire are once again turning white on top.

A fishing access along the Missouri River, taken from a high point of view.

Blue mountains, Australia

Stepping from puddle to puddle to avoid the spring melt, Crowfoot Peak cleared at the summit just long enough to get this shot on a moody morning before the rain resumed.

Bow Lake, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada

We passed a lot of beautiful mountain scenery as we drove along the south coast of Iceland, on our way to the Jokulsarlon Iceberg Lagoon. As we passed this rather stunning mountain, we made an impromptu bus stop to capture the mountain and its stunning reflection.

"When the sun is shining I can do anything; no mountain is too high, no trouble too difficult to overcome'.

(Wilma Rudolph).

(However, getting up before dawn for a sunrise still kills me lol)

One of the many names for the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies: Mt. Robson. Easy to see how it got this nickname. Like Denali, Mt. Robson generates it's own weather, covering it most of the time. Even so I like the mood and the way parts of it poked thru the clouds.

A few more pics of this special mountain in comments.

Thanks for taking a peak peek.

This has to be one of my favorite locations! Waiting patiently as the warmth of the sun slowly descended to the valley floor.

Lake Tegernsee view towards the alps.

Mt. Chephren and Lower Waterfowl Lake bracing for an early season snow storm. Love the drama and atmosphere stormy weather provides.

Thank you for your interest in my images. Makes my day.

Happy Friday!

The view from the top of Catbells, such a beautiful place.

An interesting shaped peak on the east side of Maligne Lake seen on the cruise to Spirit Island. I found it's impressive cliff face and rounded shoulders intriguing and a bit spooky. Perhaps I've been watching too many fantasy movies.

I've searched high and low to name it, no luck, so far. So many in every direction there. A good thing.

Your visits are always appreciated.

Here is another Croporama from last week's sunset shoot on the rocks at Blaauwberg beach. It's definitely not the most amazing image that I've ever taken... but I still like it enough to post it. :)

This was quite a radical crop... it's now less than half the size of the original image... but there's still plenty of detail here... at least 16 megapixels worth! Gotta love that D800!!

Landscape photography of Bosnia mountains

A view of the Cavistrau above Brigels, Switzerland

Taken Near Talybont. South Wales.

A narrow landscape shot with my 70-200 F/4L from the top of Clingman's Dome. I liked how the mountains just seemed to roll on forever. This shot reminds me of one of the stock Windows photos...I happen to like mine better.

My first Explored photo!

Actually this may be around Big Pine or Lone Pine California.

The mountains create their own weather in Nepal. Giant waves of clouds frequently bump and bend around the jutting peaks creating stunning spectacles.

Taken well after sunset, the last touch of colorful light can be seen near Mt. Rainier's summit.

This trees stands on top of Mount Ijen or Ijen crater localized call location is in the border town of Banyuwangi, East Java, East Java town of Bondowoso. Why am I attracted to trees that stand alone with no one else near him because it looks unique and artistic sense. This tree has no leaves at all the only one left trunks, seemingly dead tree, and there are some sticks of charred fire. Either that or the person intentionally burned hot climate surrounding the Ijen crater
