Humphrey loves Twizzlers, hand-dyed yarn, and his best friend - Sally the sock monkey. He's one of the official Monsters of Teen Craft book tour mascots, and he takes his job very seriously.

It took me just under an hour to crochet this much. I have this sneaking suspicion that might be because the yarn says I ought to be using a 4.5mm hook, but I only own a 4mm hook. Oh. And before you start to wonder how it could have POSSIBLY taken me that long to hook that little. It's my first solo hooking experience. And there was sushi involved the first time The Pimp showed me how to work my needle. I mean hook.

The pattern is from Kim's book: www.get-hooked.net/

You should make one too. It'll be fun. Who cares if you know how to crochet or not. Get her book. Read the instructions. Make an arse out of yourself. It'll be fun and it's all in the name of craft!

You can't really see the green-on-green face, but there's my Humphrey. The face is done out of handspun. There's a little bit of Gir-fur in his mouth that makes him look incredibly smug.

He definitely doesn't look "right" but that's entirely my fault for being too new to really follow a pattern. I mean...this is the first thing I have *ever* crocheted. Ever. In my life. SoI'm pretty pleased that he at least looks vaguely round.

Me, Adrienne, and the mascots. Adrienne left work early to come spend the day with us, and she brought both books for me to sign. She's like a walking ego boost. Thanks for coming, Adrienne!

this is my version of Humphrey, the MOTC mascot. I think he looks wonderful as a tomatoe.

This is Adrienne's mascot - isn't she awesome? I think she should be called Esmerelda (I think it's the green hair).

Take Two. Humphrey is now a hump. I've started the gradual decreases...
