two photographers braving the merciless storm and cold at Iceland's coast to get the perfect shot of floating ice from Jökulsarlon glacier lake.

visitors of the Llotja de la Seda (Silk Exchange) in Valencia, built between 1482 and 1548. I liked the scenario of the empty room and those photographing visitors in the next one, it gave me the impression of watching them through a time capsule :)

this is another old photo from the archives. i took this in edinburgh, scotland, in october 1991. i had just met florian while backpacking in ireland, but he'd gone back to munich, and i didn't know if i'd ever see him again. while in edinburgh, i called him from a red telephone box, and in a single phone call, everything changed. :-)

flickr is an amazing phenomenon. it makes the world a much smaller place -- like connecting me with bootpainter, fellow libra, who's from edinburgh, and was probably walking these streets the same time i was, living her life. no small thing, in my book.

two photographers braving bone-freezing temperatures and winds of gale force to capture this extraordinary scenario of glacier ice floes ending up in the surf of the Atlantic Ocean in Iceland. Happy Monochrome Monday!

I'm not dead, just on vacation (in beautiful Sunset Beach, North Carolina). Not sure if this photo is too "contrasty", I'm on a laptop that I can't entirely trust its screen output ...

or 'shoot-the-shooter', best served with some context...

... returns home with outstanding photographs of the even more outstanding Icelandic nature.

That morning was so incredibly cold that most of the time I was blinded by tears behind goggles and could not breathe behind the scarf wrapped around my face and yet, we had to stay and get these shots seeing that these two guys were braving the weather and getting incredible images of that storm having the surf throwing back all those ice floes onto the black volcanic beach.

Exploring the streets of Barcelona in 2010, just a few days after reading my PhD thesis at UPC I found the World Press Photo exhibition at the CCCB.

I wanna do that again. I mean, I wanna visit the exhibition and explore Barcelona streets. One thesis is enough for any crazy dude.

The processing is based on the Eric Kim's Monochrome 1600. Just a bit less grainy.

I was supposed to work today, and thank GOD they called and canceled, because I ended up staying in bed, sick all day! There's no way I could have yelled at 25 kids all day with this sore throat. Remind me again, why did I go through the hell that was getting my tonsils out at a too-old age, just to get these sore throats every few months? Dr's appointment in the morning, so hopefully it's nothing a Z-pack can't cure.

But here I am, just dragged myself from bed to get ready to go to the mall... last day for a sale that I need to take advantage of for a gift for mom.

But on a bright note, my latest ebay win came in the mail yesterday, polaroid spectra.

And... if youre still here, I got tagged to play 16 things, so I'm supposed to give you 16 random things so here goes, right off the top of my head bc i'm in a hurry.

1. my hair gets really bad static electricity in the winter, so all of my coats have dryer sheets in the pockets for me to run through my hair if necessary. My family thinks this is hilarious and i never hear the end of it all winter long.

2. i haven't changed the nailpolish on my toes since i was in a wedding in August. ew.

3. I'm a substitute teacher on my days off of class. (If you didn't infer that from my description above)

4. I actually have 2 cats, only one has made it in my photos stream so far.

5. i organize my closet in rainbow colored order.

6. i watch 5 episodes repeats of "everybody loves raymond" almost every night.

7. i lived with 8 girls all through college. wooo hooooo

8. i consider my hidden talent to be gift wrapping.

9. i have at LEAST one dirty dish in my bedroom at all times.

10. i'm bad about washing my sheets. sorry.

11. i may or may not have a foot fetish. depends on what you qualify as a fetish.

12. i'm an proud library-goer.

13. i'm bored with this list.

14. i can't cook. i can make homemade lasagna and gnocci, but usually i over cook the noodles.

15. i'm a pack-rat. but not the kind you see on dr. phil, just the normal kind.

16. i consider waking up at 10am early.

whew. is anybody actually gonna read that?

I always like photos shows how photographer's do their shots. I watch them for a long time, it's very interesting for me. And I like to watch how was it taken and what is a result.

For example, my friend shot me on his Motorola phone when I was shoting Irina this summer. It was a good day and I took some exelent portraits.

Do you like such backstage photos? =)

'El Sireno' has been kidnap twice. Now for now is safe.

I'll be back later for comments... Thanks for your comments...
