Well, it certainly looks as if it is doing a devotional of some sort to me.

It's a fly of the order Diptera Tachinidae.

Explore #122 13th November 2008 .... thank you friends for all your kind comments.:-)

Straight from the camera. Just a minor cropping & border added.

It's not strictly bokeh? so i've gone with blurkeh, pronounced like a northerner saying blokey :)

Been a while since i posted any flowers, no one was able to identify this last time, any guesses?

This is a Macro shot of a Dandylion Flower, the details on this image is awesome to say the least. I also spent some time on post processing this amazing image.

I Hope Ya'll like it. Lo: Gasssman.

A small Jumping Spider (Salticidae sp.) hanging about on his 'swing'. Within a second of taking this shot he jumped onto my lens for a closer look and was pretty determined to stay.

However with a little coaxing he was soon back where he belonged and went off on his habitual hunting routine.

Another Green parasitic fly (rutilia formosa), this time in profile.

Unlikely to win any beauty contests, but interesting in their own special way!

These Dragonflies (Anisoptera sp.) have amazing colours that aren't just limited to their eyes, but carry on down to their thorax. This is the only family I have seen this spring, apart from a few blue damselflies which manage to avoid my lens.

i really think the thorax structures on these things are amazing.

Worth a look large and on black

Next ten posts from me will be random dips into my archive... no island games and no weddings, no real theme or story to tell, just 10 images that caught my eye. Have got thousands of files all backed up again and feel like a bit of variety, and would hate to think anyone could guess what was coming next :)

A bit of macro fun again this morning, take one spiders web, add some morning dew, sunshine, a very shallow dof and some imagination…

This one makes me think of that bit in star trek when they use the Warp drive :)

A Tachidinae fly up close and side on. Funnily enough, to me at least, some of these can be quite spectacular looking from any angle and some like this one, butt ugly.

Ode to a dragonfly:

He does not live in the real world no more,

A lifeless being caught within my window,

A perfect opportunity to look closer at this marvelous being,

And appreciate the wonderment of it's creation.

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.

These are but trifles,to be sure;

but, scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is

inconceivable. ~Joseph Addison~
