This was taken about two years ago, shortly after we moved home to Michigan from Kansas. I've always loved this shot. Did some new processing on it and I think I may need to make a print for our wall. :)

I had the great pleasure of assisting Melanie Reyes with a wedding on this day. This space, where she photographed the couple after the ceremony, was absolutely amazing. I think I was beyond in love with all of the beautiful LoVe around me. the petals in the wind mixed with an exuberant new couple was just.... WOW! On my way out of town I stopped to take a quick selfie as a memory. Thank you Melanie for a fantastic experience!
I'm searching for love...
can I find it?...
is it just a dream?.....
cold and lonely...
I feel a warm breath.... maybe not a breath ... but warm ... so warm ...
I can feel you ...
at last...
love... or dream ...?

Teen Love: I was walking by and saw this. My husband was walking by my side almost obstructing my view and not even realizing I was trying to get this shot done. So finally I shot in the last chance I had.
Clandestine Love
Y Serch Lledrad
Act in love quickly, courtly:
This I’ve learned. The stealth: costly.
Muse! Help me to find the strain
Which shows most truly clandestine
Love. Confide in no one! Seal
Your lips! Let no secret steal
From out their corners. In crowds
We were anonymous: crows
In a cloud of rooks. None guessed
Our warm hearts were trussed in gold.
Our confidence was the gate
To sunlit dalliance; great
Gulfs between us now. Slander
Forbids exchange. We squander
Hours, wishing perdition on
Cold Eiddig with paltry tongue
Whose words cast an endless knot
Of lying truths: blighted spots
Of rot on our love – abiding
Long as it was kept in hiding.
I walked, in green of leaf
In worship of verdant love.
How sweet it was, love, to rove
Bewitched in a birchy grove;
More sweet still, hand on bodice
Together in arboured bliss,
Together walking the strand,
Together seeding birch in land,
Together weaving tree-feather,
Together taking love further,
Together, slim girl, in fields
Of innocent joy, through wealds,
Onward wandering through woods.
Together smile with set face
Together lips laugh with grace.
Together in the grove, lover:
Together groan, shun another.
Live together, drinking mead,
Rest together on the mould,
Expressing all through love’s will.
No beans now are left to spill.
Poem by Dafydd ap Gwilym, paraphrased by Giles Watson 2011.
~ Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
When you're in love you never really know whether your elation comes from the qualities of the one you love, or if it attributes them to her; whether the light which surrounds her like a halo comes from you, from her, or from the meeting of your sparks.
"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is."
-St. Augustine
My sister gave me this, I look at it every night before sleeping and think how blessed I am.

love is a plant
we seed it with respect
irrigate it with care and passion
and if we want to put some fertilizer we can use some sweet words and it will grow faster ^_^

A radio molded into the word LOVE circa the 1970's. This may have been all that was left of the "flower power, groovy, hippy love movement" of the 60's. Only a few years before the Beatles were singing "All You Need Is Love" while surrounded by flowers, beads and pictures of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
As always, a social movement/philosophy eventually becomes a fashion statement or becomes embedded into a product.

For how long does this path goes before we turn on our own selves; blaming the blue ocean for its shade, even if it is but a reflection of the skies above?
.
I've read today that no matter how a soul tries to understand other soul that it’ll be but a deformed shadow on the floor. That we are but islands in the sea of life, having drifting in between us the sea that defines and separates us. So can we completely understand anyone else?
.
In this sphere of reflection I've pondered about the immense power of self love. How to love ourselves seems so much more difficult and different than loving anyone else. Yet, if unafraid we can look upon our true hearts; so why are we still finding it so hard to embrace a kind of love that is magnetic, so very true, indestructible, unfaltering?
.
There must be a way to feel less adrift. To feel that it does not matter if its autumn or spring in our souls. If we have fallen tears or sincere joyful smiles. That the circumstances do not alter who we are. That we are able to feel the winds of hurricanes without letting go of the ground of who we are. And if we do, that we will always know how to return. How to seed again. How to let go of hurt. How to forgive. How to rebirth.
.
To love our own hearts is a crusade. The hardest journey there is. The one that will make all others journeys taste like lemon drops on top of a mountain made of honey. The kind of love that truly is worth fighting for. Possibly the most important one. For if I do not move myself to the point of understanding and acceptance - all the rest will be strayed in the darkness of necessity and dependence, instead of in the rainbow that is passion and deliverance. If I do not have myself I truly have nothing at all, do I?
.
And underneath this thick layer of misunderstanding there's capacity; to root, to grow. To embrace this soul of mine into what it deserves; which is to love and be loved in a circle that never ever ends.

My husband's wedding band in The Five Love Languages book. This photo was maddening to take; this was a one-shot type of thing, as balancing that ring was a time-consuming and frustrating task! But alas, I got the photo I wanted. Happy Valentine's Day (tomorrow)!

" Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. "

Love Design is a project that explores the multifaceted relationship between design and positive feelings such as affection, desire, pleasure and romance, but also jealousy, distance, separation or pain. Love Design the book presents a selection of unusual products, objects, graphics and textiles specifically designed to enhance (or distort) our pleasurable sense of togetherness in every possible and impossible way. Love Design the exhibition presents the works of 20 outstanding designers taken from the book. The selection includes new products, textiles, jewelry, lights, tableware and furniture that question the very meaning of the word 'love', the beginning and the ending of what binds us together and tears us apart.
