My trip to Watkins Glen, NY was a great trip, however, it was too commercialized in my opinion and trying to capture images without people in it was next to impossible. I have some other images to post from that trip, but on my way back, I managed to stop at my favorite waterfalls that I have captured to date: Logan Falls.

It has been (2) years since I have been here and wanted to get back with my Full Frame for a different take.

This location is 7-miles into the thick forest region only accessible by dirt roads. Greeted by butterflies on my hike down into the valley, I was excited to get to the falls. After an hour of shooting, I labored back up the mountain side only to get eaten alive by mosquito's.

The appeal of this place is it's location. Away from the mainstream and "off the grid". For me, photography has been an outlet and a release from every day stress.

This interesting rock formation can be found close to Belstone Tor in Dartmoor National Park. A Logan stone or rocking stone is formed when a joint is eroded away by the weather until one stone balances on top of another. The remains of an old stone wall can be seen in the foreground. This is the so-called Irishman's Wall. Built by two Irishman to enclose a vast area of land but disapproved by locals of Belstone and Okehampton it was knocked down and the Irishman driven away.

Every year I spend about a week or two at Bear Lake on the Utah/Idaho border. Between the lake, the wilderness areas, and Logan Canyon this place is almost heaven in the summer time. This is a small waterfall in Logan Canyon. Taken 5/29/2010.

We were there as the snow was leaving, but before the wildflowers had arrived. The geological layers and tonal variety was still very impressive and beautiful. Logan Pass is truly an inspirational place for nature lovers. Sure were plenty of them there....
