A still, clear evening with the last rays of light striking Little Horn, rising above the Twisted Lakes and autumn fagus.(Gondwanaland relic - Nothofagus gunii). Another relic of the super-continent Gondwanaland are the pencil pines, silhouetted to the left of Little Horn, these pines around 1,000years old.

Apologies for my continuing abscence from your streams...have processed this against doctor's orders - head injury still to heal following car crash - not meant to stimulate the brain! :(

No that's not my native American name. This is the smaller peak of cradle Mountain looking up from the South. The contrasting greens of the native flora and the grey skys against the imposing rock of Little Horn made for a very scenic walk. It would be an interesting climb up to the top of this and definately the path less tarvelled but I'll leave that for another time.

Took the long drive (4.5 hrs each way) to one of the classic spots of Tasmania, Cradle Mountain.

A panorama taken from Marion's Lookout of Dove Lake (you can also see a bit of Lake Hanson).

The summits include from the left Mount Campbell, Hansons Peak, Little Horn, and Cradle Mountain on the far right.

This was behind a mirror that used to be at the far end of the bar at The Alibi in San Diego. I took this photo when they removed the mirror before they took out the wall to open up the kitchen area.

The Bighorn River flows over Crescent Falls and down a steep gorge near Nordegg, Alberta, Canada

The Bighorn River is a short river originating in the Alberta foothills, and is a tributary of the North Saskatchewan River. The river, as well as the nearby Bighorn Range and Bighorn Dam are named for the Bighorn sheep which dominate the area.

Flowing under Mount McGuire, Bighorn River soon takes on Littlehorn and Sunkay Creeks, before plummeting over the impressive Crescent Falls. After the falls, the Bighorn travels through a significant canyon, before passing through the Bighorn Indian Reserve. The river then empties into the North Saskatchewan River after Lake Abraham.
