The Rossio Railway Station, originally known as Gare do Rocio, and also Lisbon Central Station, is an interface of the Sintra Line, being one of the main stations in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. It is located next to Rossio Square, in the city center. It began to be planned and built in the 1880s, as a branch of the Waist Line, having been inaugurated on May 18, 1890.

The Santa Justa Lift was opened on July 10, 1902 and is the only vertical lift in Lisbon providing a public service. It is a work of architect Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard, with a cast iron structure, enriched with filigree. Now a National Monument.

This is the 5th photo on the Lisbon by the Tagus River series. When looked at from a distance, it’s amazing the diversity of colours and, especially the predominance of green on the riverfront. On a very hot day (like today!) a walk by the river and some cocktails at the end of the day, contemplating the sunset, can be a tantalizing idea!
