This is our first spring season in the house we're renting. The owners lived here before us. We're glad they're gardeners!
In the language of flowers, purple lilacs symbolize the first emotions of love, while white lilacs represent youthful innocence.

Im Mai schlägt das Herz aus Flieder,
lila und weiß und süßer Duft
strömt auf uns hernieder
läßt uns träumen von lauer Sommernacht
in Gärten voll stiller Pracht.....
The lilacs were late this year and didn't seem to last very long. Beautiful nevertheless.
These are the lilacs that bloom first where I live. I can't wait for them to bloom this year. Taken from my archives.

My daughter-in-law considering to chop down all her lilacs (3 or 4 trees) as she's suffering from allergy. I wish I could have them here.
Well, I was expecting to photograph my son's Junior High Track meet today but thunderstorms moved into the area and it was cancelled. So what do I do? I take my camera and macro lens out as the wind is picking up before another storm and caught these lilac blooms on a bush near my home. I wanted the blooms to be in soft focus, so I manually focused on the stem of the blooms on the left. This created more dreamy depictions of the blooms instead of a more photo realistic version that I typically shoot.
Sixteenth shot of my 52 week challenge to try new photography techniques or visit new places.

Getting a bit tired of winter. This morning, we woke up to windchill of -31oC and snow. It can get a bit depressing, so I have decided to dig for some pretty colors and cheer myself up. Enjoy! ;D
