"It was deep into his fiery heart

He took the dust of Joan of Arc,

And then she clearly understood

If he was fire, oh then she must be wood.

I saw her wince, I saw her cry,

I saw the glory in her eye.

Myself I long for love and light,

But must it come so cruel, and oh so bright?"

"Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin.

Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in.

Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove.

Oh, let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone.

Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon.

Show me slowly what I only know the limits of.

Dance me to the end of love."

Mah! proviamoci .....

Leonard Cohen - Suzanne

youtu.be/6o6zMPLcXZ8

"Suzanne" was inspired by Cohen's platonic relationship with Suzanne Verdal, the then girlfriend of sculptor Armand Vaillancourt. Its lyrics describe the rituals that they enjoyed when they met: Suzanne would invite Cohen to visit her apartment by the harbour in Montreal, where she would serve him Constant Comment tea, and they would walk around Old Montreal past the church of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours, where sailors were blessed before heading out to sea.

It is in Love that we are made

It is in Love that we disappear...

I tidied up the kitchenette

Now I've heard there was a secret chord

That David played, and it pleased the Lord

But you don't really care for music, do you?

It goes like this

The fourth, the fifth

The minor fall, the major lift

The baffled king composing Hallelujah

I caught the darkness

Drinking from your cup

I said, "Is this contagious?"

You said, "Just drink it up."

Another iconic cliché moment and one done many times by me and a gazillion others!! But including a sunrise with 'birds on a wire' is certainly a penultimate cliché, right?!! Pulled this one from my archives and been working on it off & on for awhile (like since April 2010). I have a vast horde of images languishing on my hard drive that could easily fill out a year or two of Cliché Saturdays! Doesn't everyone?

Our Daily Challenge: Pointed

Our Daily Topic: Hard Light

this is a shot of light pouring through a square skylight and hitting a wall. courtesy of the architecture at our local mall ... which is fairly boring, really, until you zoom in and tilt ever so slightly. =)

what i like best about this is that entirely without me planning it, it seems to pay tribute to an album cover i love: Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.

I took three shots that day and the second one that I posted ("By the end of the Day") was similar and my favorite. But this one was sitting on my computer and I did like the mood but never posted cause I don't like to repeat myself... Then I also wanted to share with you one of my favourite singer and his song and it hit me that this photo would fit just right... (I hope).

Thank you for being here for me. Always.

Baby, Ive been waiting

Ive been waiting night and day

I didnt see the time

I waited half my life away

There were many invitations

And I know you sent me some

But I was waiting

For the miracle to come

I know you really loved me

But, you see, my hands were tied

I know it must have hurt you

It must have hurt your pride

To stand beneath my window

With your bugle and your drum

While I was waiting

For the miracle to come
