LensPro 52 Week Photo Project: Week 7: Light

Sunday night I headed over to Lens Pro To Go's new studio with Tony & Anna for my second shoot with Dreena.

We wanted a bit more of a formal look, as we did sporty/athletic shots last time.

Thanks as always to Paul at LensPro for letting us use the space (and his sweet 300 2.8).

Sayaka and I got married this April, and are finally taking our honeymoon. We both think Japan is the most fun place for a vacation, and this will also be my first time to Japan.

As you can see, I'm taking much other than my camera equipment. Even though it looks like I don't have much luggage, on the way home I plan to have 3 full suitcases (just for my check-in). I may even restore Japan's economy with my shopping! :D

LensPro 52 Week Photo Project, Week One: Self Portrait Without Me In It

Meet Juno, my almost 5 month old Labrador puppy. She is gazing through our storm door, that fortuitously needed a repair today that required removal of the bottom glass panel. I thought it would be a good time to take the shot of 'My Front Door.' Nikon D3s, Nikkor 24-70/2.8 @ 24mm, ISO 1600, f6.3, 1/250sec.

Strobist: 2x Prophoto Compact 600R strobes with barndoors on the background. Prophoto Compact 600R to camera left in a 3'x4' softbox for key. Prophoto Compact 600R to camera right in 18"x36" stripbox for fill. Triggered with PocketWizards.

Our Front Door(bell). Our door is boring. But my wife hunted high and low for this doorbell...

Not the shot I was planning on, but unfortunately life kept me from doing what I wanted to.

For those asking about the type of light used in this series - here's a look at the ringlight we used. The lights are daylight balanced CFLs.

Threw around a bunch of ideas for this one...finally settled on the tastiest one. Done for the song "Blue Moon".
