Anh hãy cứ ra đi, mình đừng gặp nhau nữa, đừng để trái tim em lại tiếp tục đập thật nhanh khi thoáng nhìn thấy anh. Nhưng anh đừng lạnh lùng như thế.
Anh đã đến với em thật bất ngờ, nhưng chẳng khác nào một cơn gió lốc cuốn sạch sự bình yên trong cuộc sống của em. Anh chẳng cố tình đâu, em biết, nhưng chính sự vô tình vô ý ấy mới khiến nhịp đập của trái tim chưa bao giờ rung động nhiều đến thế phải rối loạn. Anh ở rất gần mà em thấy anh xa xôi vạn dặm.
Em cũng chỉ dám lặng lẽ đứng nhìn thôi, chỉ dám nói thật ít, cười thật nhiều để che đậy đủ thứ cảm xúc nhảy múa trong đầu khi ở bên anh. Em không muốn anh nhận ra tình cảm của em dành cho anh đâu, thật đấy, vì em tự nhủ chúng ta không phải dành cho nhau, giống như anh ở phương Bắc còn em mãi thuộc về phương Nam. Giữa chúng ta còn có khoảng cách nghìn trùng cả về địa lý, về tuổi tác, lối sống không thể lấp đầy, nhất là khi có người không muốn lấp đầy.
Thật lòng em không bao giờ biết anh nghĩ gì về em cả. Với anh, em hẳn chỉ là một cô bé, tất nhiên không phải cô bé 13 đâu phải không anh? Nhưng vẫn chỉ là một cô bé thôi. Anh không dám và không muốn xóa khoảng cách giữa chúng mình, nên anh càng lạnh lùng hơn và xa cách hơn. Hay là với anh, em cũng chỉ là một người giống như trăm người khác, như tất cả các cô gái đã từng biết anh, quen anh, và xúc động vì anh?
Liệu em có suy bụng ta, ra bụng người không, khi em có cảm giác rằng bất kỳ cô gái nào quen anh đều cảm mến và yêu thương anh như em? Trong mắt em, anh xứng đáng được như thế, vậy nên em càng thấy tình cảm của mình nhỏ bé và tầm thường quá, tầm thường như tình cảm của trăm người cho anh.
Anh đã thừa từng trải để lèo lái mình thoát khỏi những vũng lầy tình cảm của các cô gái rồi, nên cũng chẳng khó khăn gì để anh phán đoán, hay nhận ra tình cảm của em hướng về anh. Anh không muốn đón nhận. Vì em quá trẻ so với anh. Vì em quá nhỏ bé. Vì em chỉ là một người em. Hay vì anh vẫn chỉ có một tình yêu đó?
Người ta thường bảo, đàn ông càng chung thủy thì càng là mẫu hình lý tưởng của phụ nữ. Nếu anh lăng nhăng thì em đã chẳng yêu anh rồi. Em chỉ còn biết yêu, giận và ghen âm thầm mà thôi, vì em đâu có tư cách gì để bùng ra tất cả những cảm xúc ấy? Với anh, em chỉ như một cô gái mới lớn. Vậy nên có bao giờ anh nghĩ rằng, những con sóng tình cảm của em cũng sẽ nguôi dần đi không anh?
Những ngày này, em sợ khi có người nhắc đến tên anh trước mặt em. Em sợ khi thoáng thấy hình bóng dáng anh ở đâu đó, dù ngoài đời thật hay trong ảnh, sợ bởi vì tại sao em có thể nhận ra anh nhanh đến thế, rõ ràng đến thế? Em cay đắng khi nghe những bài hát có tâm sự như em. Em cũng chưa bao giờ mất ngủ, vật vã nhiều như thế. Em không muốn đâu, nhưng lý trí của em chưa đủ mạnh để lấn át trái tim anh ạ.
Em tự thấy mình chưa từng động chạm đến cuộc sống của anh, chưa từng làm phiền gì anh cả. Rất nhiều những người quanh anh coi anh như tri âm tri kỷ, họ chẳng ngại xin anh cố vấn mọi thứ trên đời. Còn em chỉ dám lặng lẽ đứng xa xa. Có những điều muốn hỏi anh thì cũng phải đấu tranh tư tưởng năm lần bảy lượt mới dám gửi email hoặc nhắn tin để hỏi.
Em lúc nào cũng tự nhủ không biết anh có đang bận không, rằng những thắc mắc của em có làm anh bực mình không, rằng việc trả lời em có làm anh tốn thời gian không… Vì vậy những câu hỏi của em dành cho anh đã thưa dần, và có lẽ sẽ chẳng bao giờ xảy ra nữa đâu anh.
Anh hãy cứ hững hờ với tình cảm của em anh nhé. Nhưng xin anh đừng lạnh lùng như thế. Xin anh đừng cắt đứt mọi liên lạc, mọi cách liên hệ để em có cảm giác anh ghét em vô cùng. Mình không gặp nhau nữa, không sao cả. Nếu có gặp nhau, đừng vồn vã như xưa, cũng không sao cả. Nhưng chỉ cần cho em được biết anh vẫn khỏe, vẫn đang làm việc, và quan trọng hơn, cho em biết chúng ta vẫn đang tồn tại giữa cõi đời này.
On a recent trip to Seattle, I took a cab ride to the Freemont neighborhood to see the troll (www.flickr.com/photos/jcbwalsh/15961541875/). After waiting for me to finish at the Troll the cabbie kindly offered to take me to the statue of Lenin.
I thought the red hand was a nice touch. It wasn't until I got home and researched the statue that I learned that was a very new addition, but far from the first time the statue had been decorated / vandalized.

131212 ASSEN - Sinds vandaag kijkt de Russische dictator Lenin uit over de Vaart in Assen. Nouja zijn bronzen standbeeld dan. De Koninklijke Landmacht bracht het beeld gisternacht vanuit Bad Nieuweschans naar de Drentse hoofdstad. De communistenleider is opgehaald in het kader van de tentoonstelling "De Sovjet Mythe" in het Drents Museum. Rondom de komst van het zeventien ton zware beeld was commotie ontstaan. Onder andere de PVV vond dat het leger niet gebruikt moet worden voor het vervoeren van het beeld van een massamoordenaar. Het tien meter hoge beeld van Lenin staat nog tot juni in Assen. In 1997 importeerde Henk Koop een 9 meter hoog Leninbeeld uit het Oost-Duitse Merseburg (aldaar geplaatst in 1971) naar Tjuchem, waar hij het bij zijn bedrijf neerzette. In 2009 werd het beeld voor een expositie vervoerd naar Enschede. Na afloop daarvan werd het niet terug naar Tjuchem, maar naar Fontana Bad Nieuweschans vervoerd, waar het een plekje moet krijgen in het bronnenbad. Veel mensen kwamen vandaag even kijken naar het torenhoge beeld en maakter er bijna allemaal een foto van met hun mobiele telefoon, De meningen waren verdeeld maar zeker 80 procent vond het beeld wel passen aan de kop van de Vaart in het centrum.

Abandoned School, Chernobyl-border-region: north Ukraine

Lenin Park, including the large lake in the center, was once Hanoi's dumping ground for household waste. Originally called Seven-Hectare Lake, the area lacked any appeal until after the French were defeated. Ho Chi Minh adorned the grounds around the lake with gardens, paths, statues and even an area for theatrical performance. The newly named Reunification Park became, and still is, one of the most beautiful parks in Hanoi. It was later renamed Lenin Park when the then Soviet Union befriended Vietnam during the American War. Every morning it fills with joggers and every evening with couples.
Right outside the Finland station (Finlyandsky vokzal), sits this statue of Lenin, looking out over the river.

The highest monument (57 m) to Lenin is in Volgograd. Its author is Vuchetich. The monument was opened in April, 1973. Before there there was Stalin.

When Lenin, the first leader of Russian bolshevism and of the soviet Russian state, died on January 21st, 1924, it did not happen in the Kremlin, not in Moscow but in a settlement named Вышние Горки (Wyschnije Gorki). Lenin had spent this last months of his life here, kept under tight control by his successor Stalin. After Lenin's death, the place was renamed into Горки Ленинские (Gorki Leninskije), in 1949, Lenin's house was turned into a museum. In 1987, a monumental museum was added (which you can see here). And a couple of kilometres further north, at the street to and from Moscow, this monument was placed into nothingness. Our correspondent assumes that it was errected on a field to give it a more monumental expression.
