Shot in Weymouth last night, on a walkabout with the Leica M2, Leica M9, Moskva-5 6x9 and a new one (gifted from Grandparents, a Praktica Sport 35mm film camera with autorewind! My most advanced film camera by many years!)

I did another Leica vs Hasselblad shoot today, this time with Sophie. Non-scientific as usual but the Leica M8 was so far ahead in terms of pleasing images there was no contest. I also did a 3 lens comparison on the Leica M8: Leica Noctilux 50mm f1.0 @ f1, Leica Summicron 90mm f2 @ f2 and Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.2 ASPH @ f1.2
The 90mm was my clear favourite but all 3 lenses did well. Here is Sophie with the 35mm Voigtlander

Leica M9 + Leica Summilux ASPH 50 (Lux)
After using the Leica Summicron mostly for the last shoot today I used the Lux 50 wide open for most of the day to see what it could do at f1.4. It really does shine when used at f1.4 up close. I tried to use the Zeiss ZM Sonnar briefly but had to swap straight back as the closest focal distance of 0.9M just isn't good enough for my style of shooting in the studio.

Katie helping me this morning for a location shoot before going to the studio. Daylight only. Photo here to meter for a similar photo with the Mamiya 645 Super + Portra 400. I was using a Sekonic light meter too for some shots.
..I love how the Leica Summarit renders / 'draws'.. one of my favourites for this.

Leica M9 + Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.2 ASPH ii
Claire & Chris chose colour wedding photography so this is a B&W conversion in PP.
The weather was kind to us and the available light in the house was beautiful. Window light is king regardless of how many lights you take to a wedding! :)
The 35/1.2 was my most used lens on the day, by far. Full wedding blog summary to come but here is a summary from the weekend - wp.me/p3ioIk-Dy
I travelled from Coventry to Bartholomew Barn in Sussex for the wedding. Fantastic wedding venue! www.matthewosbornephotography.co.uk/Wedding-Photographer....

Leica M9 + 1973 Leica Summicron 90mm f2.
Sharpened in LR5 + tag. The filmic look is thanks to the lens and Leica M9 Kodak CCD sensor. I'm really pleased with how vintage thtis quick 'holiday snap' came out.
Manual focus Leica M cameras are more than capable for fast moving children photography. It just might teach you to focus a little faster and run around like a mad person! :)
Leica M9 + Leica Summicron 75mm f2 APO
Cheesy commercial looking fun photo from tonight in the studio. Maria behind the scenes posing with my Leica M2. I commented on my new Leica M3 but it doesn't have a strap yet so she grabbed the M2 instead.

Leica M9 + Leica Noctilux 50mm f1.0 v2 @f1
Available light portrait taken with model Ellie. This is a DNG B&W conversion as I had planned to post it in colour but then it looked better in B&W. An impressive lattitude /range of grays, again more similar to grey tones achieved when shooting film.
