Snowball fight during lunch break!
Shot with my lensbaby (no photoshopped DOF). Manual focus, terribly difficult to use in action shots, most of them were out of focus, but when it all comes together....

via Disaster and Recovery ift.tt/2l1rNku RAMSEY, N.J., Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — As part of their commitment to providing businesses with quality IT service, Comport, one of the Northeast’s top DRaaS providers, provides tips on how to keep your business running when disaster strikes. In an ideal world, companies would always operate at maximum efficiency without having to worry about protecting their corporate data. Unfortunately, however, there are a variety of situations in which disaster can stop a business in its tracks and cause significant financial damage. The best companies are always prepared for the worst. Listed below are some guidelines to keep in mind to ensure that your company can bounce back should disaster strike. Have a Plan. The most important part of any disaster recovery is having a plan before it happens. When crucial data is lost or technology is otherwise compromised, it’s a very stressful situation with serious implications for the business. To head off any problems before they get out of control, a business should put into place a plan of action they can quickly activate should the company find themselves with a technology emergency. Okay, there is a tiny bit of a story behind this one. You see, I wanted to play FGR. The only lame portmanteau (sp?) I could think of, and I don't know if it really counts, is QuartTale. Many of you know that I am a lawyer, and after beating someone silly in a lawsuit, it is tradition to go after being in "court" drink a few and tell a few stories. Hence a QuartTale (I also liked that this word has the word "ale" in it as well.
But here's the thing. I accidentally bought a pint. And, I was not even sure if a QuartTale was a proper whatever the heck FGR is playing today. So, I just decided to pour myself one. Meh. I know. I may stick it in anyway.
Also, there have been a couple of Brits that I have had a couple of wonderful chats with over the last day or two. So, Guinness in your honor. Cheers. You know who you are!!

A stormy spring day looking out to the Pacific Ocean. The light rests on Lawyers Head which is a controversial place in our city. It was closed for a pipeline to be put in out to sea which had an unintended effect of reducing suicides from people jumping off it. Now there are debates whether to shut it, fence it ruining the views etc.

via Disaster and Recovery ift.tt/2l1rNku WOBURN — National Grid on Tuesday defended the use of replacement workers, a day after a supervisor replacing a locked-out union worker injected excess pressure into a gas line, forcing the company to shut off gas to 300 homes here and raising fears of explosions like those that rocked the Merrimack Valley less than a month ago. Marcy Reed, the president of National Grid in Massachusetts, declined to detail how the supervisor let too much pressure into the gas line, but said he was an employee with decades of experience. She said replacement workers and supervisors were slowly allowing pressure back into the pipes Tuesday and testing the system before turning gas back on to the homes. Some homes would have gas restored Wednesday, she said, and all would be back on line by Thursday. State regulators imposed a moratorium on almost all National Grid work after the pressure spike. Advertisement “As we’ve said already, this was mostly, we will find out, a point of human error,” Reed said at a news conference. “Mistakes do happen. This could happen regardless of the workforce we have on the ground.” Get Fast Forward in your inbox: bit.ly/2QDb1pC
