I have homework from the workshop I did in july, and this is month two's homework. I bet yo can guess the theme: knowledge. Now, I'm terrified of posting this because I don't know what the feedback is going to be, but I'm facing my fear and posting it anyways. So, I hope you enjoy!

knowledge is all around us .. it is our job to make the best out of it whenever possible

@ New York, USA

With nearly 53 million items, the New York City Public Library is the second largest public library in the United States, behind only of the Library of Congress.

The main branch of the New York Public Library on the Schwarzman Building was officially opened on May 23, 1911. In 1910, 75 miles (121 km) of shelves were installed, and it took a year to move and install the initial collection of books.

The Picture is from one of its "Modern" corridors, but the main building is a Beaux-Arts design and was the largest marble structure by that time in the United States.

The library originated in the 19th century, and its founding and roots are the amalgamation of grass-roots libraries, social libraries of bibliophiles and the wealthy, and from philanthropy of the wealthiest Americans of their age.

This huge old book was sitting on the corner of the shelf just above my desk here; I was experimenting with camera settings as I sat here, clicking away at random subjects and I kind of liked how it looked with the branches behind it.

My YSP set.

Non so se ho reso bene quello che volevo dire, volevo creare una specie di "scala di libri" che porta le pesone verso la conoscienza più ampia.

E' il mio primo esperimento, spero di aver fatto un buon lavoro!

I dont'really know if I do in a good way what i wanted to say with this photo, I wanted to make a sort of "books stairs" that takes people to the hight knoledge.

It's my first true experiment of levitation, I hope I've done a good job!

Another shot focusing on Mood. Funny thing this was shot from a moving car in Poland. I wanted to stop and shot the sunset instead I had to get my timing right to get a subject, focus, and shutter. It was shot with a tilt-shift (which is all manual), so you could image the technical challenge this posed. The tree just sticks out, gave me this whole thought of Adam and Eve and the tree of knowledge, hence the title.

I love photography. I love photography even more when things work out.

Knowledge is no matter of time. If you have good books You have the key to knowledge. And knowledge is power.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create.

Albert Einstein:

To learn things. Like travelling into an endless tunnel. I say this because you will never learn it all. There will always be more.

So tomorrow is my last day of summer vacation. :( And guess who waited until now to read her summer homework for english? Yep. This girl. Haha I am such an awful procrastinator.. And earlier when I went outside to start my last book, my golden hour addiction kicked in and I ran back inside to grab my camera. Then I ended up with these!

I'm hopefully getting up early tomorrow to catch some photos of the sunrise :) That's one thing I still need to cross off the summer bucket list.

After I uploaded this, I realized that this angle was definitely inspired by the amazing Madeline, even if mine is nowhere close to as beautiful as her photos. If you haven't seen her work, be sure to check it out. She is such an inspiration to me. <3

6:59 With Him are the keys of the unseen, the treasures that none knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry (green or withered), but is (inscribed) in a record clear (to those who can read).

-The Holy Quran

Knowledge, like water, is vital to life. In this work, a continuous stream of water connects the two figures. The water is symbolic of the passing of knowledge from generation to generation. This embodies the Rotarians' hope that the values cultivated by the 4-Way test will continue to be a guiding principle in human relations in our future generations.

4-Way Test

of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to All CONCERNED?

3. Will it Build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP?

4.Will it be BENEFICIAL to ALL CONCERNED?
