~OMG, shoes!~ This photo is dedicated to my dear friend Kayte Abate, not only because she gave me this pair of red shoes, (they didn't fit her), but because the "OMG shoes" thing, a really goofy song is an ongoing joke between us. I love you girl! I took this pic in the wee hours of 1/17/08, a self timer experiment. See, I'm getting better all the time! For the record, no, I do not have a shoe fetish, really!

Merci madame :)

Pis merci à ma Kay (kayte:p) d'avoir joué les entremetteuses :)

I mean, really what else is there to add. And no, not a joke...

I chugged one, all 24 oz. of it, straight down. For science. Yeah, science, that's it.

The Ferris Wheel Of Life

by Maggie Gultiano

(A collab write with Kayte, a fellow poet)

We're going to ride the Ferris Wheel of Life

And when it gets to the top,

We'll review each of the blessings we've received.

They never seem to stop!

Round and round we go

never stopping, never wondering

our life's struggle has it's beginning

it will always have it's ending

Along our way we've found laughter,

love and happiness, freely given by

Earth Angels we call 'Friends.' -

From them we find courage to ride

Life's Ferris Wheel time and again.

We have our ups and downs

And fears for the future in our early rise

Our aching knees we take in stride

We have a God that heals and provides

For this we trust in faith and give thanks

As long as there's beauty in the sunrise,

The sound of laughter at a sweet surprise

A child reaching for our hands to hold

The ride on Life's Ferris Wheel, we'll savor

Just knowing the blessings of God's favor,

Our hearts will be happy and we'll never grow old!

An old friend of mine Ria contacted me about getting a shoot together for her web store WWW.FILTHYMAGIC.COM . I hadn't seen her in a while and we started picking out models right away. We decided to go with Kayte Abell and Julie Sandifer, and me as the last model and makeup artist. We had originally planned on having Victoria Zeoli as the photographer but due to a last minute emergency we got stuck trying to find a photographer at the last minute.. ( haha an hour later then we had originally planned on to start shooting ) It was fun to have girl time in the meantime though. We had Troy Huynh come and we thought he had to be done within 2 hours. With 3 models, an about 15 pieces to shoot we thought no way. Luckily Tiffany Fortier decided to join us as well, just a little bit later on. After shooting at a few places around my house we decided to head downtown. We got kicked out of a place and then drove around aimlessly basically for a while until we found this little nest of small restaurants and shops and decided this was the spot. Tiffany had to leave at around 7 :30 but it was starting to get dark regardless and our own smell from being in the hot florida sun started to get to us. haha. I can't believe it's this hot out already in April. We shot a few more sets around my place after she left with Troy.

Overall it was a very fun day! I think we got some really great shots and it's been one of my favorite shoots to date!

The makeup I did on her reminded me of I dream of Jeannie. And her hair in this shot makes it even more prominent.

Kayte and Java class of 2010

Collecting the Ash felled last week to take back to the bonfire at kayte Lane.

This isn't my main stream, so I don't check in here as often as my other, but I happened to stop by to check in on things & I happened to see that lo & behold, there on my profile widget it said that I had one photo in explore. Whaaaaaaaat? C'mon, I can't make explore to save my life, that can't be. So I checked it out & found out that the Not So Little Red photo of me taken by my Chuck Walker recently popped into explore @ 261 on November 2. That's insane, it doesn't even have that many views, comments or faves! I've always thought you had to have a slew of comments faves & views to get in there. Well who can understand the way that crazy algorithm figures things out. I know it depends a lot on the day you uploaded as well, your tags & how many clubs you send it to. I've had photos that got so many hits & faves in one day soon after uploading & nothing - go figure. I checked the link for dropped explore & two more pics came up - wow I had no idea, how exciting! It is nice to know that although explore doesn't seem to want to acknowledge me for my self portraits, photomanipulations & photography, it is nice to know that at the very least it is recognizing me as a model. The 2nd photo was also taken by Chuck Walker which appeared on October 30 (interesting since that is the day it was taken, although I believe I uploaded it much later). The 3rd you will recognize as my icon originally taken by Kayte Abate. I did do a considerable amount of work to that one, so hey, my manip skills were recognized here, kinda, heheh! ;P

I absolutely love these shoes!! I havent worn them anywhere yet, so I dont know how they are going to be in the long term, I have a thing at school coming up soon and I have a sparkly white sweater to wear ,and these very pretty shoes are going to look great! They look well made, but of course they are , they are MIAs. I only wore them around my kitchen to make sure they fit, and I wear an 8 and 12 , they fit perfectly. Awesome color, chunky heel, which should be nice to walk in, I dont think I will break an ankle, ;) I would order these again.
