This is a little bit of an optical illusion...these two buildings, the Hillbrow tower (left) and the Ponte apartment block, are about 2 Kms from each other, but from certain angles, they appear as next door neighbours.

Men pulling these heavily-laden trolleys are a common sight in Johannesburg. They collect mostly paper, cardboard, and plastic from bins and dumps around the city and haul it all off to recycling depots where they exchange it for cash. In this way they eke out a living, but I'm sure the work is hard and the pay a pittance.
