Unlike the previous ones that are furry, this yellow dragonfly has small plates on its flanks- immovable joints like sutures on a skull.

Platycerus caraboides is a species of stag beetle belonging to the family Lucanidae, subfamily Lucaninae.
These beetles are present in most of Europe, in the Near East and in North Africa.
Platycerus caraboides has a flat body, green or iridescent blue. It can be easily distinguished as a stag beetle by its elbowed antennae.
The adults grow up to 9–13 millimetres long and can mostly be encountered from May through July, flying around during the day in deciduous forests or staying on the ground on rotten branches. The predominantly host-plants are broadleaf plants, but also conifers (mainly Pinus species). The larvae usually live on decayed wood of oak and beech.

Het blauw vliegend hert (Platycerus caraboides) is een kever uit de familie vliegende herten (Lucanidae).
De kever is verwant aan het vliegend hert (Lucanus cervus), maar blijft met een lichaamslengte van 9 tot 13 millimeter veel kleiner. Ook de lichaamsbouw is anders, de mannetjes en vrouwtjes lijken op elkaar en doen uiterlijk denken aan een loopkever. Ze zijn door de geknikte voelsprieten - die loopkevers niet hebben- te herkennen.
Het blauw vliegend hert is in Nederland en België plaatselijk algemeen. De soort komt vooral voor rond beboste gebieden vanwege het voedsel van de larven. Deze leven van vermolmd hout van onder andere de eik (Quercus) en de beuk (Fagus).
The echinacea flowers in the garden are swarming with cool looking butterflys lately. Unfortunately I don't know the species.
